Remarks

This campus sums up to be a bright and an enlighting space for students of every level and background. Management is very supportive, fast and efficient. Faculty and environment we are having in the college is good for studies creating competitiveness among students. Overall, its an awesome experience being here till now. Hope, it will be even better in the coming years.

Entrance Preview

The procedure of getting admissions in the college is very simple. Since it is a part of Delhi University, admissions are based on the cutoff percentage. When the cutoff percentage list was out, I applied for the college directly and got a seat in my preferred branch because of my marks in the 12 th boards. There are no such interview or group discussions. I wanted to get into the North campus but the requirement of marks is higher there and finally ended up to be here.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The syllabus followed by Delhi University is really amazing and focuses more on practical learning. It is well structured and easy to understand. What I felt is that in some ways, the curriculum is similar to UPSC. The course is divided into 6 semesters which includes some optional and interdisciplinary courses. Also, we get to do a lot of research and all by which each subject sounds very interesting for us.

Internships Opportunities

College doesn’t provide any internship opportunity to the students but they can apply for off-campus internships with a stipend of around Rs. 2000. Since I haven't bagged any internship I am not much aware of this. Although, I have heard from some seniors about their experience and they feel very positive about it.

Placement Experience

3.5

In terms of placements, our college scores 7 out of 10. A lot of MNC’s are invited throughout the year to maintain placements percentage of every branch. As usual, placements in Computer Science and commerce is highest among all the branches in the college. The average package is about 5-6 lakhs p.a. Maintaining a score of 65-70% throughout the college assures placements with a good package.

College Events

4

Our college is very interactive and a series of events are organized for the students like Sports day, Investiture ceremony, Founders day, Elections, Annual day, Ht times, Miss JDMC, Teachers day, Farewell and much more every year. Every department of the college has their own fest and half of the expenses of these events are shouldered by the college management. There are Literary and Commerce fests to name a few such programs.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure is somewhat affordable and is set around Rs. 15000 yearly and sums out to be almost Rs. 50000 for the course but it doesn’t match up with the facilities provided by the college. Although, it is inclusive of everything so it seems feasible at the end.

Fees and Financial Aid

Criteria for availing scholarships in the college is solely based upon merit and participation in extracurricular activities. The scholarship amount is not much but somehow it is helpful for economically backward students. In terms of the loan, our college does not provide any of it but students can apply on their own.

Campus Life

4.5

Our college has a very good exposure to sports apart from studies and organizes inter college annual Basketball Championship and Football meets. Other than this, a dance, as well as music society, is there in the college for students to explore their talent. A series of workshops, based upon uses of subjects as industrial applications, are held at frequent intervals.

Hostel Facilities

4

Our college hasn’t provided us with the hostel facilities yet. Constrainedly, students have to move out in PGs and renting flats which is a costly affair. PGs in areas like Karol Bagh and Rajendra Nagar charge around 10-20K per month, all exclusive. Although, the hostel is under construction and it will be functional from next year probably.

Alumni/Alumna

Having a large alumni network all over the country, an Alumni meet is organized every year where we get to meet and talk about the experience of previous students.

Exam Structure

An academic year is divided into semesters and have a chilled out pattern but gets hectic in the end. A total of 4 examinations are held each semester and internal exams as well carrying a weightage of 25%. Attendance of 70% should be maintained mandatorily throughout the year as they carry marks.

Faculty

4.5

Professors here have a vast experience in teaching as well as in research programs. Most of them are scholars and have a Ph.D. degree either from JNU or other prestigious institutions. Other than that, they are very supportive and helpful, some exceptions apart.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
