A decent college with average facilities

The college is good in many aspects the atmosphere is the most important factor.it has very good facilities including lab and workshops .Talking about the faculty members they are extremely good and they are also helpful.But being a government college the

I wrote the kerala engineering entrance exam(KEAM).It was my first attempti did not undertook serious studies for the entrance exam.But i was able to get under 5000.i applied for admission in various government colleges and i got admission in gec kozhikode and that too in mechanical branch.it was not really the first preferred college but considering my rank i got admission here.

I had heard from many people that the syllabuswas quite tough as i had thoughta the syllabus was a bit tough our college followed syllabus of calicut university.It was indeed a reputed university in india.I was lagging behind stydies during my first years but later on i catched up with the syllabus.The curricular consisted of many practical works which was tougher.My first year exam results was not upto the expectation I am trying to compensate that this year and i am sure that i can do that with a little more effort.The faculty menbers in our branch are excellent and are all phd holders.They are also very helpful.

Truly speaking our college is not well known for the internship programs only a few companies are coming yearly.But considering the past number the number is increasing and in the future it will further come up.Our college started functioning in 1999 it has not been much years after it stood up and i think thats the reason behind lesser companies coming.the companies that came in past years include bata, infosys etc.the stipend rates offered was not much high.It was probably in tge range of 10000.

In the field of placement our college is lagging begind many other colleges.Even being a government college the placement rates are less comparable to many private engineering colleges.yearly quite a good no of companies are coming for plaxement but the student selected is quite less.The number of students selected last year was below 50.the companies tgat come for placemebt include ibm, tata,ibfosys,bata etc.evenin the 50 students placed majority had gobe to it section.i believe that it is due to the lack of a strong pkacement cell that the number of students placed are less.

As being a government college every year union elections are held and a new union is elected.College union conducts various cultural and technical activities.Recently conducted programs include a technical fest named lakshya which was a grand success.other programs include union inaugration and freshers day.Many cultural programs including college day are coducted every year.

Our college is a goverent college and students are alloted on the basis of rank being a government collegethe fees is quite low .There is pnly semester fees.during admission a fees of 8000 ewas paid.then for each semester a fees of 5000 is to be paid.also examination fees has to be paid before university exam.No other extra fees is needed to be paid.

Being a government college many scholarships are available in the college.the scholarship provided included egrants ,central sector scholarship etc.e grants scholarship provides fee waiver to the students.css scholarship provides a fixed money to the availed students.Also loan facilities are also available for the students.the loans provided are interest free.

The college has a very good campus atmosphere.talking about the gender ratios in the mechanical stream there is usually one or two girls in other branches the ratios are almiat equal.The campus is also good in extra curricular activities.the college has its own teams in various sports like cricket , football,badminton,table tennis and many other sports.Also various arts programs are also conducted.I dont think there is any gender or sex discrimination in our college.The college in very strong in political activities.the college has a very strong alumni association.Alumni meets are conducted on a regular basis and many peoples are participating in the process.The alumni association works for the welfare of the college and also provides fund for the college programs.Talkibg about the senior students they are very friendly and cooperative.They are very helpful and assists us in various situations.there is no ragging in our college.

In our college hostel facilities are only available for girls.There is no boys hostel.the girls hostel was inaugrated last year.That also is not quite big to accomodate all girls.For boys there are many houses nearby the college where students are staying

The college has a very strong alumni association.alumni meets are conducted on a regular basis and many peoples are participating in the process.The alumni association works for the welfare of the college and also provides fund for the college programs.Talkibg about the senior students they are very friendly and cooperative.They are very helpful and assists us in various situations.There is no ragging in our college.

The exams are conducted during six months following a semester structure in the first year exam was conducted at the end if the acadamic year.The university exam was quite tough.The results are usually published after 6 months.the exam pattern includes ea
