Course Curriculum Overview
The course selection is mainly guided by your rank in JEE with Computer Science and Engineering being the top priority for most of the students. In NIT KURUKSHETRA the recent curriculum changes and modification helps the students to learn the best to make them industry ready. Still the teaching methods are orthodox and need improvements. Smart boards and smart classrooms, infrastructure improvement and lab enhancement is required. Exams are conducted in two phases internal and external each sem. The internals consist of two mid semester exams of 20 marks each and out of 10 marks are awarded by the teacher based on class performance and assignments. The external is of 50 marks. Out of 100 student is evaluated. Also it is required for student to score atleast 40% in bot internals and externals. Mid sems are usually tougher than end sems.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are available after 4th and 6th sem with companies like microsoft, google , tcs , cisco intel approaching the college for fresh interns. Avg stipend lies around 65000 p.m. Projects in desired stream are required with cs/it students making ai/ml facial recognition and other projects and core branch students making core related projects. The projects must depict a real life application to a problem or service.
Placement Experience
For placements, students are eligible after 6th sem. Many companies including google flipkart microsoft tcs intel visit the campus for placement and internship opportunities. Highest package till now is 1.25 cr and avg package is around 15 lpa. The typical percentage of students placed is around 86% prior to 2024. My plan is to get good placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fees is regulated by the government and rate of hikes is usually kept low but completely depends on current government. The cost of education includes 78500 tution fees and 36000 mess fee along with hostel dues. Various scholarships are available along with fee wavier if you are from reserved category. On campus placement opportunities and internship opportunities are also regulated by tnp cell at NIT kkr.
