Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is well distributed into 8 semesters. The basics concepts behind the complex mechanisms are given utmost priority. These concepts were taught well in depth in first two semesters. It is upto the students how sincerely they exploit the opportunity provided. If they follow the syllabus of every semester from the books suggested by the proffesors, they can actually achieve an expertise in the field. Practicals are also given importance. The concepts that we cover are implemented in the labs simultaneously. A group of 20 students goes to a lab at a time, so the teacher-student ratio is actually excellent. Exams are conducted thrice- 2 mid sems and an end sem. Understanding of concepts is important to pass the mid sem exams. However solving previous year questions and learning those topics is sufficient to pass the end sem exam.

Placement Experience

4

The students are more oriented towards IT jobs and get placed easily. Some of the companies which recruit from our college are Microsoft, TCS, Airtel and many others. Our campus is often visited by PSUs like BPCL and HPCL. From 7th sem, one becomes eligible to apply for placements. There are many students who pursue higher education from reputed institutes like IIMs, IITs and IISc. The highest package offered was 1.25 cr in the last session.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is varies for students belonging to different categories. It costs 78600 (approx) per sem for students whose family income is greater than 5 LPA. Merit and need based scholarships are also available to assist the students. The fee varies for different batch by a little amount but for a batch, it remains same throughout. We haven't observed annual hikes till now. However the fee for our juniors might ne a little high. Many students also work online in the night and earn well while studying. There is no restriction led by our college as such. All the government scholarships are also accepted. So, a student can also get benefit of those government programs as well.

Campus Life

4

The cultural fest of NIT Kurukshetra, knows as the Confluence, is one of the most celebrated festivals of the North India. It is mostly organised in the month of October. Our technical fest- Techspardha is also very popular among tech Enthusiasts as it proved a wholesome experience and opportunity to showcase their skills and knowledge. Apart from fests, the students remain engaged in clubs, societies and crews throughout the year. Our infrastructure is developed in such a way that it provides resources to all the crews and clubs in the evening. The societies also get rooms from the academic building for their functioning. The Student Activity Centre and the OAT are generally made available to the dance and acting crews. There are equipments and fields for almost every sport. There is a swimming pool as well which is open to all. Our sports fest- Citius is also very popular for its energetic vibes. The evenings are the best part of one's life in NIT Kurukshetra

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostels of NIT Kurukshetra are on of the best among all NITs and IITs. All students from second year get a single-seater room with a bed, table, big cupboard and 2 chairs. They are ventilated and spacious with big windows. Girls even get a single seater room in their first year as well. However boys get the chance of having fun with their roommates in their first year. They are cleaned regularly. Proper sanitation is maintained. It is very rare of an NIT Kurukshetra student to rent an apartment. Everyone prefers to live inside the campus. There is an in- timing of 8.30 p.m. for girls in the hostel. The food prepared in the mess does not give you the home vibes but you don't have to worry about health. It is prepared by maintaining proper hygiene. Auto services are also available inside the hostels. For girls arrangements are made for gym, parlour and tailor. Life is quite easy in hostels.

Admission

To get the admission to NIT Kurukshetra, one has to appear in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) and get a decent percentile. This is followed by the JOSAA counselling which occurs in countable rounds. There used to be 6 rounds until our time. One can also participate in Csab counselling which happens after Josaa over the leftover seats. Csab provides good opportunity to get admission even at a comparatively low percentile. Students must set a target of scoring a minimum of 75% in class 12 examination. For the JEE Main examination, solving previous year question is a must as it gives the idea of important topics and questions which are repeated frequently. Taking guidance from an expert or someone who has already undergone through it turns out to be fruitful.

I am in the computer science and engineering branch. I want to be a software developer and I am passionate about coding and I love to code that's why I am chosen this branch. The faculty members of my college are awesome and helpful. They are well qualified and knowledgeable. They cooperate with students in every situation . they focus much on the weak student so they can also pass the exam. they use the blackboard and smart classes both to teach the student effectively. we have industrial exposure also. the well built spacious will have no importance if not for the wonderful faculty the college has. All are faculty members are highly knowledgeable and done their post graduation from one of the top colleges like IITS. and most of the teachers are GATE qualified and even it is not once. they are writing the exam regularly. so, if you prepare for the GATE exam, then you can get great help from them. they used to prepare us for the GATE exam, along with academics

I am a Delhite and my college is on outskirts of Delhi and also i being residing near du north campus used to think i will enjoy the same college life. but being into a professional (b.tech) course gave me a different view of college and its life. i came to know how to lead a professional ethic life, learnt some good meaningful things.college management is getting strict day by day for laws against students but the other tasks like things that need to be get done from peon are not getting done. ac's dont work even after complaints. in total the college needs a great improvement else it will keep running the business with no fruits.
