- Nice and beautiful campus ,Good senior junior relationships,no ragging ,decent placements . Daily grocery items or food items or fast food available easily inside the campus
Dislikes
- Infrastructure is not to the mark ,it could be better ,mess food in some hostels are good but in some hostels it is not that good. Also no good cafe or restaurant inside the campus
Course Curriculum Overview
Being electrical engineer student i found the curriculum up to date to gate syllabus .... Teaching methods should be improved ..When it comes to exam there will be 1 mid sem 1 end sem 1 minor and lab exams per semester ... But during the semester exams there is no gap between 2 exam which is very hectic
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placement in the last semester only but ofcourse they can get PPO during internships . For core jobs psu and other companies like tvs , jcb etc come. For tech jobs Infosys ,goldmans sachs ,cognigent etc come . Highest package was 54lpa, average was 11 lpa . 90% of students gets placed .
Fees and Financial Aid
If family income is less than 5 lakh students gets tuition fee waiver if it is less than 1 lakh then no tuition fees only the other fees like hostel mess etc. Also SC ST students get few waiver ... For a general student and family income above 5 lakh there is no such waiver but can apply for scholarships apart from the college ... In 4 years around 8 lakh will the fees for a general students having family income more than 5 lakh.
Campus Life
Tecnoesis is the tech fest held in oct or nov and incandescence is the annual cultural fest held in Feb or March which are the 2nd largest fest in northeast India . Other than that there are other fests like oikyotan by the Bengali community ,posua by the Assamese community ,ugadi by the south community etc . All the occasions are celebrated here like Holi Diwali , rabindra jayanti ,Id ,janmastami,chat Puja ,navratri etc .4 Books are issued to each student every sem and 5 to SC St or obc . There are many clubs which are very active and organise some events frequently like photography dance music drama literature club ,e cell ,gdsc etc. inter hostel intra hostel sports are also conducted . In classroom projectors are present . Even some labs are air conditioned .
Hostel Facilities
Facilities are decent for double room 2 good size armirag 2 study table of godrej and 2 bed of godrej . 2 tubelights also there is one more port for light . Sometimes the light is there otherwise u have to insert your own .. in some of the hostel balcony is there and a bulb on the roof . Meal is good in some hostels the menu is good . But in the some hostels although the menu is good but the food is not that good . The items used in cooking like oil masala achaar etc are from reputed brands otherwise fine will be imposed on mess caterer. Mess fees is 22500 per semester with a daily price of 123 rupees ,the excess money is refunded in the next semester .
Admission
Admission was through josaa counselling . Cutoff was 54k rank for general male home state for electrical and last cutoff was for civil which was around 85k for home state male . For Other states for electrical branch it goes to 27k rank for general male in csab. Exam difficulty level is moderate in the college ... Improvement can be done by making the admission process online..
Faculty
More than 30 faculties in each branch . Almost all of them have done their Mtech and PhD from IITs or top NITs. But there is a difference between being qualified and teaching skills . Some of the teachers are good in teaching but some are not although they try to interact with the students very much and are friendly too. But some teachers are ofcourse there who are very rude
