My college experience

Overall college is good if we exclude the fees structure.

Course curriculum and exam structure are relevant to today's generation where we understand the technology, how it works and what are the changes or patches we can apply to make it more feasible to everyone. Faculty members at UPES are well qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is so good. Teachers use PPT. Blackboard, lectures, and labs as teaching methods. There are 500 national & international faculty members in UPES. YES, Course curriculum is very useful.

Placement for Computer Science branches were 91% last year. The highest package of 29 Lacs, an average package of 4 Lacs. IBM, CISCO, XEBIA, ORACLE, FLIPKART, Schlumberger and many more companies visited the campus. 100% of students got an internship from this college last year.

Events at UPES celebrated on a large scale with great pomp & joy. IGNITE, UURJA, & WOW Wednesday are important techno-legal-management & cultural fest of UPES. There are various student chapters for extracurricular activities. Student chapters organize different types of events & workshops for students.

Fees structure of every course in this college is extremely high as compared to other colleges. The total fees which I need to pay in these 4 years are 12 lacks excluding my hostel fees and other expenses which is higher than most of the college in India. My first-year fees were 1,30,000 excluding other expenses.

I was applied for education loan which was availed to me by SBI. I need to submit my college ID, Total fees brochure when I was applying for a loan and after that, I need to submit my Invoice and grade card of every semester to pay my semester fees.

Campus life in UPES campus is overall good where you learn to gently communicate with other people, give your opinion on a specific topic which increases your communication skills. The gender ratio is almost good in my branch. Extracurricular activities are organized by the university in some interval of time. Sports events like 100m, 200m, 40m,800m,1600m race, inter-branch cricket competition, football competition are organized for both girls and boys every year. Robotics, coding, designing events are organized in a 2 days event called Ignite which is a Techno fest.

Seniors are helpful as they provide a direction through which you can achieve your goal as they are more experienced than us. They provide notes and guideline that are very helpful for everyone.

I got admission in this college through UPESEAT entrance exam where 200 questions are asked 50 questions each for physics, chemistry, and maths 20 questions of GK questions and 30 questions related to grammar. After some, I got my result where it was written that I have qualified this exam and a date was given for registration process and from 1 August 2016 my college journey was started

Faculty of different streams has different faculty rooms by which anyone can filter them according to their branch. You can meet them personally on their desk in the college timing i.e 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM or you call mail them anytime on their personal email id or call them till 9 PM.
