LIFE OF A UPES STUDENT

I am a computer science student and as per my curricilum It was good enough for a student who is coming from a non CS background. I have completed 4 semesters and apart from computer science studies we have our aptitude and logical reasoning classes with an exploratory course also in which I am studying about buisiness

College has good internship opportunities as in first year only all the students have to a social internship in which students go to NGO for 40-45 days as an intern. Then in second year we all are free to work our skills and knowledge so that in third year we can get internship in good companies and get PPO too

Placements of my college was good. As average package of my college was around 10 lpa but as recession hit so it has reduced to 7.5 lpa, but still companies are coming to college to provide placements and internships.

Fee structure of upes is no doubt very high as it is a private college so fees of all 4 years is around 16-18 lakhs but there is also a scholarship fascility to scholar students and to citizens of uttrakhand. To avail the scholarship, student have to score above 8.5 cgpa in a year which may reduce the fees upto 75000.

My experience at UPES was good as it has lot of clubs and student chapters in which you can inrteract with lots of other students and you can build good connection with your seniors. UPES also conducts good fest and in every 2-3 months we have a new fest.

I got admission directly on the basis of my JEE rank but college also took admission in the basis if class 12th marks and it also conducts an enterance exam for students and cutoff was not so high, most of the students got selected in that process, which I don't like because it allows more non technical crowd to compete with us.

Faculty to student ratio is good. It has some great faculties too which provide support in every aspect whether studies or life studies. Their support is very beneficial and helpful, their teaching methods are also very good and interactive
