- The faculty is not very interested in the academic development of the students
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is designed as per the industry standards according to the current demand of the industry and is at par with the colleges of the same level as UPES, the frequency of exams is 2 times a semester mid sems and end sems, however the exams are relatively difficult as per the content delivered during class room teaching, but still the exams conducted are a good test of our knowledge.
Placement Experience
Placements are okaish of this college, they state that they have 100% placements but only of those students who are eligible to sit in placement session, after 6th semester students start getting internships and placement or grab job offers in companies, detailed information about number of companies visited and no of offers made can be found on college website, highest package of CS dept was around 33lakh and lowest was 3-5 lakh(avg), my current plan is developing a good skill and then getting a good job
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of this college is high and this college does not promise a good ROI, like when I took admission my fees being nearly 2.1 Lakh per semester making it 4.2 lakh a year and nearly 17-18 lakh for my whole course duration, alongwith 7-8 lakh of hostel fees of 4 years, making it a total of 26-28 lakh for complete course package, the scholarship provided is just for name sake and does not really benefit the student and is only applied on tuition fees based on marks scored in jee or boards.
Campus Life
They have one cultural fest named UURJA mostly held in October or September and small sports fest named Spandan, it's name usually changes every year, the library is well equipped with a large number of books to cater the needs of students from any course, all classrooms are smart classes equipped with projectors and speakers for an immersive learning, the sports facilities are average neither good or bad, the college has a large number of different clubs for engaging students of various interests such as ACM, Cyber Sentinels, Avishkarnam etc.
Admission
Basically they do not give seats on merit rather they have large number of seats for CS department, and they just provide it to any student having 75% or more in board exams or percentile more than 75 in JEE, and the admission entrance test which they conduct is also for name sake and does not really tests the student (UPESEAT) application form can be easily found on their website, application form fees was around 1000 or 1500. Some special reservation is there for students of home state i.e uttarakhand.
Faculty
No doubt the teachers are qualified in their subject and are interactive towards students but due to large numbers of batches per faculty it's difficult to approach the faculty for individual interaction or doubt solving and also some faculties just deliver the course knowledge for the sake of it not caring about whether the student understood the matter or not.
