Course Curriculum Overview
As per my percentile in Jee Mains, I was getting this course easily, so I enrolled in this course. This course includes many core subjects such as measurements and measuring instruments, signals and systems, electromagnetic force theory, etc., which I think is way good for uplifting the value of the course. If we talk about improvements to this course, there are many corners. Mechanics thought the first year was worse. No professor has any knowledge or perspective on how mechanics could be thought of. This was a drawback for every student, as their overall CGPA decreased because of this. I think this subject needs extra time, and extra materials should be provided for a better understanding of the student. Every semester has three phases of exams: midterm, endsem, and minors. Labs also holds some extra laboratory examinations held at the end of every semester.
Internships Opportunities
Companies include- Microsoft, with stipend around 60k, NRL with a stipend around 20k, etc. For core companies, one needs to have project work regarding automation and all other topics related to core subjects.
Placement Experience
After the end of the 3rd year, i.e., after the end of the 6th semester, students are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies that visit include NRL, BHEL, SMTL, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, etc. highest package last year was provided by ATLASSIAN and was Rs. 80 lakh per year. I want to enrol myself in public sector, like NRL or BHEL.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee here is, I think, up to the mark and not too much, but yes, northeastern has many scholarships, like the Issan Uday scholarship for the northeastern people's, which provides ample money for our fees and other curriculum activities.
Campus Life
Two fests namely, Technoesis- technical fest and Incandescence is a cultural fest. Nit silchars library is considered Asia's biggest library and there are too many books. Every semester, every student borrows books from the library for educational purpose. The silchars library is also flushed with PYQs and everything related to study.
Admission
Everyone is enrolled in this college through the Jee Mains examination. One needs to score above the 90 percentile to enrol in this college. The Jee Mains examination form opens in the last week of December to January. Reservations are also provided for SC and ST students. Each year, one student is allowed to give the Jee Mains exam twice, and the best one is recorded and sent for counselling.
Faculty
Professors are highly qualified and everyone can check their qualifications by visiting the official website of nit silchar. Though professors are good, the education system here is the worst. Students have no time for their personal development. There is no time for self-study, and this is the worst side of the college. As the number of professors decreases, no professor can guide each and every student. PhD scholarships are there to guide students in special classes named tutorials, but most of the students don't attend them because there's already too much energy left for these tutorial classes.
