What Students Say
Likes
- Infrastructure and overall crowd, easy transportation
Dislikes
- Office administration sometimes doesn't listen and they work according to their own preferences in all government colleges
- Nobody updates for any changes in curriculum that can affect our results
Course Curriculum Overview
I'm a NEP curriculum student and I do find it better than the cbcs one as it provides for our skill enhancement and spritual, physical and mental development too but only if the classes that we're opting for the same things take place. Most of the classes take place regularly but if any sec or vac course is new so it takes time to allot a new teacher to it.
Internships Opportunities
Several companies provide internship opportunities for college students here even du provides summer internships once a year to its students like the vice-chancellor internship and admission office internship during the summers. For du internship, you have to clear a cutoff of 6.5 cgpa without any backlogs.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible from 2nd semester of their course only for the internship. Several decent companies like Narolac, ICICI Bank etc have made offers for placements and many others for internships The highest package as per last year's annual report was 23 lakh and even and increase in the percentage of students placed was also seen My plan after getting my degree is to pursue higher studies if I don't find any decent placement as per my requirements
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is very nominal ranging from 10000 to 15000 depending upon courses. This fee includes everything. During admission I was charged 13,900 but after that in the second year the annual fee summed up to 10k only. The placement cell of college is very much active providing for internship opportunities too. Placements take place but most of the students leave them to pursue higher studies
Campus Life
The clubs are very active so you can join them for an overall metropolitan University experience as in some du colleges the clubs and cells are not but here in dsc they are so it's great in that field. I'm myself is a member in research paper club and women development cell and I had a wonderful experience being a part of it. Most of these cells are student run only so you gain an experience of work life too
Admission
I took my cuet first and after the scores were declared the admission process for du got started we had to fill out preference sheet for du mentioning what courses and colleges we wanna apply for then after few days students were allotted seats in the colleges depending upon their scores. In my batch having a score from 610-800 was good to go to get admission in du. Dyal Singh College's cutoff was from 680-720.
Faculty
The teachers are good, highly qualified even some are still pursuing their PhDs overall not a very bad experience with the teachers here. Yeah but sometimes some teachers just don't interact online through e-mails etc do that can be a little problematic.
