Course Curriculum Overview
The electrical department of NIT Silchar is very good as here electrical department professors are knowledgeable. As the curriculum, the professor provides good practical core knowledge of the subject. Teachers should try to give more practical knowledge with higher theoretical knowledge. There are mid-sem, end-sem, and minor tests in the whole semester and the exam difficulty level Is more than medium level.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies provide intership facilities like Amazon, Samsung, and many core companies during summer vacation and with a stipend of 10k to 25k every year. Many projects are done by students under clubs and societies like ML club, E cell, etc.
Placement Experience
From semester 6(six) onwards students are eligible for campus placement. Many companies like Amazon, Google, oil India, Samsung, HPCL, ONGC, and many other tech companies and core companies visit every year, and about 80-85 percent are placed. The highest placement of the college is about 80 lakhs and EE department, the highest package is about 52 lakhs and many students also prefer higher Education.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fees for the complete 4 years are about 6 lakhs( including hostel+ mess charges). There are many scholarships provided to students like the Reliance Foundation scholarship, FAEA scholarship, etc. Colleges provide relaxation on fees based on family income to students. The college provides placement appro..to students and intership also.
Campus Life
The annual fest is incadanscene and the technical fest is technosis conducted every year in even semester in February and April.NIT Silchar has Asia's largest digital library and almost every semester books are available there. From 2nd year classrooms are well equipped with the digital classroom and EE department facilities are good. Provide sports facilities like badminton, cricket, football, table tennis, tennis, etc. and there are many clubs and societies like E cell, Electra society, ML club, etc.
Hostel Facilities
The room in the hostel is good and meal quality is not good and the menu is not fixed and Registration process for the hostel is quite simple and done online. Hostels are available for both boys and girls on the campus itself.
Admission
The entrance exam for College admission in the Btech course is JEE Mains. The rank required for admission is nearly 23000 in the general category. Every year NTA conducts exams twice in January and April. Application forms were released in December and form fees are nearly 1000 for the general category. Reservation for girls is there nearly 20%. Exam time is 3 hours. Admission is on the basis of rank in jee mains through JOSAA counseling
Faculty
All professors are well-educated and knowledgeable. All studied from higher institutions. Teacher to students ratio is almost 1:25. Faculty tries to provide equal education and students can interact with professors anytime during college hours. Interaction with teachers can done online or offline.
