Likes

Education are good, some faculties are really great.Teaching methods are good.
Campus is so interactive. Teachers are always there for the support, mentoring facilities are also there.
Course curriculum are also good for overall growth of a student.

Dislikes

The campus is small. They shoud work on infrastructure more.
There should be some more program on career advancements. Placement servicesshould improve.
The college should work on communication way as many of them speaks in local language sometimes it becomes hard to understand things .

Course Curriculum Overview

I am studying Artifical intelligence and Machine learning course. As technology is advancing AIML plays a critical role in shaping the future, so this skills are high in demands ,creating a huge job opportunities in this field. This also enhances our analytical and problem solving abilities enabling us to solve large complex problems.

Class Size: 62Course Fees: INR 128000 per year

Placement Experience

I am just enter 2nd year so i dont have much info about this. From 4th semester onward anyone can sit for placements. Highest packaged offer is around 6 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placed us so less. I might go for offcampus.

Fees and Financial Aid

Total fee structure is around 6 lakhs. This hikes alot this year only. The hike depends on government. There is scholarships but mostly for there state student only .like Swami Vivekananda scholarship, Kanyashree prakalpa, etc.around 60000rs is offered under SVMCM.

Campus Life

The overall campus life is okayish. There is tech fest and cultural fest in may month. There is annual sports , tournaments for badminton, football,cricket, table tennis. Talking about library in have all the academic required books. And are easily accessible.

Admission

Admission is through Wbjee exam only. Cutoff vary from 10,000 to 25,000.Exam is conducted offline in West bengal only . If you resident of West bengal and comes under tfw quota then your fee will be so less. And there are also scholarships.

Faculty

On average college offer 25 faculties on per courses , so its impact our learning courses adversely we get great options to learn from. Faculties credentials are also great so they offer there best in teaching and mentoring. Our teachers are always available unless they don't have other class to take ,we can go to them whenever we stuck and have doubt.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

See,I didn't get good percentile in jee advance and so I choose to give wbjee exam to get a seat in engineering colleges and I got a rank of almost 17k where I got cse department in 2nd phase of wbjee counciling.I choose St Thomas College of Engineering and Technology because the fees is very low compare to other colleges as I don't get jadavpur university or any other top in that rank and I am very happy from my decision because of you need a college that gives placement and fees is not too high .This college is best for that....Read More
