Remarks

Best college in my view. There are some students that create a bad image of college but You can find them everywhere.

Entrance Preview

This is the college with the best infrastructure, faculty, alumni, and administration. The best thing about ZHDC is its discipline and strictness that makes it the best college of Delhi University. I have shifted from Deshnandhu College, Kalkaji and I've always found my decision worth it.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is the same as prescribed by Delhi University with respect to Choice Based Credit System. There are 6 semesters with the various core, AECC and Genric Elective subjects. There are internal assessments for 25 marks including 5 marks for attendance, and 2 tests/assignments of 10 marks each followed by a 75 marks theory paper.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college provides an internship that is totally performance based. Being the student of the first year, I won't be able to tell much about it.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement is good and there is a scope for development. Many companies visit the college and almost all students get placement as per their capabilities. The placement cell is very active and they provide a scope for growth and development to the students.

College Events

3.5

I don't know much about the events being a student of the first year. Still, there is an official freshers party for each department and many events are organized by various societies. All the Delhi University students are allowed in these events in order to make them a great success.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees are feasible. Its only 8080 for 1 year. There is an additional examination fee charged that is 1020 per semester for my course. It is quite feasible to read in Delhi University because of its reasonable fees structure. The fees are paid online by the student's portal.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, there are scholarships available for the students. I am not sure about the loans but the college provides some scholarships to the girl child and EWS students.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is cool. There is a big canteen that provides delicious food at cheap rates. There is a Safal Outlet that provides drinks, ice creams etc. There are many inter-college competitions held for various societies and many aspiring students participate in these.

Hostel Facilities

3

There is no hostel in the college. Right now the college is under construction so there will be a college after a few years. Still, students can get accommodations in PGs or Delhi University students hostels e.g Rajiv Gandhi Girls Hostel. PGs are also reasonable.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are helpful. They tell us everything we need to know about the college administration, scholarships etc.

Exam Structure

The course is divided into six semesters. There is internals of 25 marks and written exams of 75 marks. In the internals, there are 2 tests and 5 marks are awarded for attendance. The written exams are based on the CBCS system prescribed by Delhi University.

Admission

Firstly, I've filled an online form on the Delhi university portal. Then after meeting the criteria for the admission in Economics Honours that is 92% in the 7th cutoff list, I applied for the merit-based admission and take my documents for verification. After verification, I registered and completed the formalities. In the evening, I paid online fees and thus, admission was confirmed.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of college is quite cooperative, qualified and soft-spoken. The teachers are willing to perform their duties for the best of their abilities. They even take an extra class if the syllabus is left uncovered. The best thing is their cooperative nature.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
