Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Regarding the course curriculum in terms of relevance and comprehensive so it provides the student to deeply study the Indian history, Europe history and one other country history. The Indian history inspired me to opt for this course. Talking about the areas of improvement so I feel like the lecture hours should be increased because the curriculum itself is so vast and students are studying 3 core paper, along with one minor and vocational subjects. The teaching methods are nice but it can be improved like for a history student things can be done on group level like sites visits, archeological survey although they are done but not in large scale. The frequency and timing of exam is fine but the thing that can be done is the increase in semesters period. Semester can be of atleast 5 month then only the student will be able to grasp things well.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

The college provides various internship opportunities for the students especially for commerce and economics students. Companies are various that provides internship for the students. Recently Spills provided the internship opportunity for history student with stipend of 12k but the role was data analyst. So mostly intership roles are data analyst, some manager etc. Interships are good but the roles are quite difficult for me as my subject field is history and they need experts in data entry and analyst.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is around 17-18k for all courses. The tution fee increase policy is not much. The complete cost of education will be around 70k for 4 years that will include all type of charges of college. The only difficulty will come in finding pg and place to live. Other than this the college provides various scholarships for the students in different field. It also provides freeship for students that are not economically well of to that extent. The amount ranges from 10-12k. And, also the students that fulfill some kind of merit criteria are also awarded with the scholarship. Some scholarship includes KPMG, G.L. Bansal etc. The amount varies from one to other scholarship. The college provide its best to students in regard of financial availability.

Campus Life

5

Overall the college is good and the college life is also good. The fests are amazing especially the TARANG (annual fest) and Noor. Tarang is suppose to happen in March and Noor is the diwali Mela mostly happen around diwali. Talking about accessibility so LSR provides Excellent library. The library contains more than 4,00,000 books and th students are free to avail the benefit of that. The classrooms are well equipped with projectors and size is also good. LSR provides excellent sports facilities for the students. It provides the students with well equipped equipments. Some of the students had played at the national and state level. Recently three girls has been selected for the Paris Olympics. The societies and club are varied and are really good for the students to engage and enhance their overall personality.

Admission

The admission process was CUET( Common University Entrance Test). The syllabus was ncert only. The eligibility of the course varies with respect to different subjects. The general test was not mandatory for DU. It takes score of 3 paper that you studied in class 12th and english as compulsory. The exam was cbt. Then the CSAS portal was opened to fill the preferences of the college and courses. The reservation play a important role in allocation of the college and course. The admission process is quite fair that it'll not grant admission to any student based on his/her 12th marks but at the same time it was really confusing for the students and the students had to wait long for the results because it takes a lot of time for exam conduction, then answer key final answer key then allocation etc. Improvement can be done in this field so smooth the process of admission.

Faculty

4

The qualifications of the faculty members is quite good. Mostly all of them had done their Post graduation from JNU and had done their Phd. Almost all of them are experts in some field. Their interaction with students is quite appreciable. The college organise tuts period where one to one conversation takes place. The students are assigned some fun related activities like movie review, book view, performing skit or some kind of drama to illustrate the subject without feeling bored. The students can approach the faculty members anytime. They ar friendly and helpful. The faculty members made the students to make subject or class groups so that things can be made easy to communicate and any student can also ask their query anytime. So, overall the faculty members are so good in their work and effectiveness.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
