Gargi College for Academics (Applied Psychology)

The curriculum is comprehensive and covers most psychology field. The first year is mostly about basics but later years provide for opting between several fields. Clinical and Industrial Psychology exposure is also provided.

A lot of internship opportunities are offered throughout the year. The placement cell constantly offers opportunities and posts them in the group for students to apply. Most of the internships however are more sales and commerce background oriented. Psychology related internships are not offered. Students need to look outside themselves. However, 1 week internship at IBHAS is offered.

Campus placements exist but very few come for the Applied Psychology course. Campus placements are offered mostly for commerce fields. Companies like Deloitte also come. Highest package was 25 LPA. Average is usually 2-3LPA. Not a lot of students get placed. I am now working from a college placement offer, i did not sit for placements but they share opportunities on the group even after graduation.

I paid 13000 apx in the obc nc category in the last year, the first year fee was 11000 apx but it increased each year. The college fee is minimal and exam fees of ?1200 is to be paid every sem for my course and other courses with practicals. Department fund is also asked for each department which may vary from 500-2000. There is no hostel in the colllege so for outstation students the outside accommodations (Pgs, flats etc) near college may be expensive.

The fest culture in Gargi is very underwhelming. The principal and the admin staff are not very supportive of the cultural activities but focus more on paper presentations and conferences. Academic exposure is valued more than cultural or extra-curriculars. The societies have great talent, most of them perform great throughout the year but do not receive a lot of support from college. The library is okay but has less space and doesn't accommodate the batch. The psychology department has provisions of projectors, ACs blackboards, lab techs, and several psychological tests. Mosy of the college doesn't have ACs.

I got admitted before the cuet applications. I was adimitted based on my boards percentage. The cut-off for my category was 96%. The gen cut-off was 97-98%. The form was common for Du. The admission process was fairly simple but the documents were required for everything.

the class size was pretty small. The student to teacher ratio is catered to. Practical Groups are formed with 15 students per group in first year which aid in better learning. The class size is generally small too. The proff know students and provide individual feedback too.
