Course Curriculum Overview

4

I think what made me choose this course was that after graduation it ensures really good placements with high LPAs The curriculum is very thorough and fills us in with each detail which is crucial for masters and job However, after school it was quite a huge jump, especially in mathematics, so most students find it difficult to cope and have to take tuitions The end sem exams happen at the end of each exam. However, 2 months before, the tests, quizzes and assignments are given out and that is when it is a little hectic to cope up. Therefore I stand with my advice that start studying from the start

Internships Opportunities

4

Some of the highest internship packages provided by companies are BCG, DE Shaw, Mckinsey, Accenture, Deloitte, EY, KPMG etc. There are 3 categories of internships First involves internships less than INR 10000 per month Second involves internships greater than INR 10000 but lesser than INR 30000 per month And third involves DREAM INTERNSHIPS which are greater than INR 30000 per month For internships, it is important to have a good CGPA You need to have more than 7.5 CGPA to sit for internships Apart from CGPA, your aptitude and mental ability needs to be strong You need to have a strong profile consisting of good internship experience, good professional courses, renouned certifications You need to stand out in a crowd

Placement Experience

4.5

If its a 3 year course, then students become eligible to sit for campus placement in their 5th semester. If its a 4 year course, then students become eligible to sit for campus placement in their 7th semester. Around 80-100 companies come to LSR with the highest being 49LPA and average being 12 LPA The highest package is given by companies like Bank of America, American Express etc Mostly those students get such high packages who have completed CFA along with Economics These offers are made to more than 100 students My plan after getting my graduation is to get a work experience of 1-2 years After that I plan to sit for CAT and do my MBA from the top 10 IIMs Then I want to work at a good corporate company with a good reimbursement

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fee is fixed in LSR that is INR 19170 Including tuition, caution everything, the total is INR 19170 During admission, to secure your seat, you need to pay INR 750 if OBC/General and INR 350 if SC/ST For all categories, the fee is INR 19170 only(UR,OBC,SC,ST,EWC,KM) For PwBD students, the fee is INR 1550 For foreign students however, the fee is INR 37170 A large number of scholarships and freeships are given to students in LSR every year and interviews are taken to make sure that only those candidates receive who are in genuine need The Scholarship names are WARD WELFARE SCHOLARSHIP, KPMG SCHOLARSHIP, GL BANSAL SCHOLARSHIP, ELSA SCHOLARSHIP, SHRI ONKAR NATH PANDIT SCHOLARSHIP and SHRI MANOHAR SHYAM JOSHI SCHOLARSHIP among several others. Remaining students are offered freeships. The amount keeps varying and is only decided after the interviews

Campus Life

4.5

There are 3 annual fests that happen each year The main fest is called Tarang The diwali fest is called Noor And the North eastern fest is called Bahubashi Tarang usually happens in the first week of March Noor usually happens in November depending upon diwali dates And bahubashi happens in September The library in LSR is vast, it has 2 floors and holds more than 20000 books, journals, magazines etc Within classrooms, although there is no airconditioning, our campus is very connected to nature and its always cool and comfortable There are digital boards present which help teachers in teaching and make the class more interactive There are 2 facilities provided in terms of outdoor sports NSO involves all outdoor sports such as football, basketball, tennis, badminton etc NSS involves providing opportunity to youth to serve the country in defense There are around 50 societies and clubs ranging from dance to music to fashion to entreprenuership to marketing, everything

Admission

In terms of DU colleges, I had only 3 aims; SRCC, Stephen's and LSR. However, my score was not high enough to clear cutoffs of SRCC and Stephen's. These are the big 3 in DU. Every student in DU places there colleges first. I got selected in NMIMS, SYMBIOSIS, CHRIST, IIM RANCHI ST XAVIERS MUMBAI & KOLKATA both and MANIPAL. But of course, LSR exceeds them all by a huge margin so I decided to come here. There was no admission process as such. Just after the seats were allocated we had to reserve our seat with a registration fee of INR 750. Then, we had to provide certain verification documents like MARKSHEETS, AADHAR CARD etc. That was the process

Faculty

2.5

The faculty to student ratio is excellent i.e. 1:10. The faculties are extremely friendly and helpful and it also helps that most of them had passed out from DU only They are contantly there to guide us whenever we require assitance However, there are a selected few faculties who ensure that students' lives are made as difficult as possible They cut marks of some particular students unnecessarily and then mark them absent even when present They are also never there to help out There are 2 end semester exams Each sem involves 3 tests out of which the best 2 marks are selected for internal evaluation The course curriculum is very difficult and if someone thinks that they will study last moment then they wont be able to score 7+ out of 10 So it's important to study right from the start Now for passing, DU has declared that students should score more than 50% in each subject

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
