Likes
- Gargi college being a girls college feels like home to all the student. The infrastructure and facilities like library, canteen, labs, projectors really help the students.
- The possibilities of social interactions are endless with many societies and their events and fests that take place throughout the year.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure is a pro and con for our college. Being a girls college we expect proper washrooms but in our college we have only 3 washrooms which are functional and somewhat usable
- The lack of ac in classes is also a con for our college during summers.
- Less interactive teachers and leniency is a major disadvantage.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum in terms of relevance does not cater to students. We have 7 exams in 1 semester out of which 3 subjects are of no use to us in any way. The classes takes for those 3 subjects comapritito the effect it has is very high. In my opinion not having these subjects would be much more beneficial to the students
Fees and Financial Aid
I study in gargi college where the yearly fee is around 16000 to 16500. In the 1st year of college i paid a sum of 14500 rupees for my course and there has been a gradual increase in the fee. There is a registration fee for end semester exams which totally depend on the subjects you choose. It may vary from 1200 to 2000. In my course there are no lab fee. There are also scholarships available for students with yearly income less than 5 lakh.
Campus Life
The social aspect of gargi college is very rich. We have societies for each and every thing you could think of which provides a safe space for the students as well. Due to so many opportunities and exposure from the societies we get hands on experience and a new poijt of view to look at things.
Admission
I did not really pick this college as my 1st preference. It was due to cuet that i had to settle for this college and course. I had the opportunity to take admission in aryabhatta college and gargi but i chose gargi due to its higher ranking and better crowd. I couldnt get admission in other colleges due to my cuet score and the cutoff
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is something which troubles most of the students. We have very less faculty compared to students. The faculty sometimes fail to cater to the needs of students resulting lack of classes. Huge time gap between classes. Gargi has the best faculty when it comes to courses lile psychology, economics and english.
Interview Experience
No we didnt face any gd or any interview to get admission in the college Our admission was through the common entrance exam cuet. The criteria for admission in gargi college was based on the cuet scores of the students.
