Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is standard of all technological universities in India. It covers all fundamentals of engineering for first and second years and dives deep into core subjects during the last two years.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are available from Third year onwards. The tnP cell helps in calling out recruiters and arranging interviews and online assessments. The whole process is coorinated by the students themselves with help of professors and deans.
Placement Experience
Ther is an official Training and placement cell that prepares each and every interested student for placement season. The tnP is coordinated by student coordinators from third and fourth years and the college has several clubs like coding club, GDSC, E cell that advocates a competitive environment and helps students develop real world industry skills.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees is different according to income categories and reservations. For sc/st students and students having family income less than 1lakh per year, they do not have to pay any tuition fees. However they still need to pay 22,500 INR per semester if they opt for hostels. For students with family income income less than 5 lakhs per year , they have to pay only one third of the tuition fees that is approx 33000 and the histel fee that is 22500 per semester. For other students the fee is almost 1 lakh per sem for tuition fee and 22500 for hostel per sem.
Campus Life
The overall college life is pretty good. The college is full of greenery and lakes and the views are serendipious. The classes form 8am to 5pm could be hectic however there are many recreational and extracurricular activities available in campus. several clubs are there for entertaining as well as professional development. The college has also basic sports facilities like a football field, Cricket field. Badmintion, tennis, kabaddi, kho kho, table tennis lawns etc.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are overall okayish. The food is not that great and some people may find hard to adjust but it works in most cases. There are several boys hostels and girls hostels throughout the campus. The hostels have several facilities like tv room, mess hall , table tennis rooms, etc.
Admission
I applied to this college through JOSAA after jee mains and got selected on the basis of my jee score. This college is 2nd best in NE region and 8th best NIT in India. It is also ranked 40 in NIRF rankings with good facilities, infrastructure and placement opportunities.
Faculty
The faculties and highly trained and come from high educational backgrounds. Most of the professors are friendly and have years of experience in their fields. They are also highly research-oriented and carry out several research projects throughout.
