Course Curriculum Overview
Overall campus life is good. We have too many clubs ranging from technical to non-technical. We have music dancing coding ML clubs literature books GDSC space quiz and many more clubs. All these clubs hold many events and functions. Apart from clubs there are branch societies which to organize many events. There are also 3 college fests, one technical one cultural and one about the Assamese festival Posua. On and all we enjoy a lot.
Internships Opportunities
There are many internship opportunities in this college. Students get mny high paying intrenships, but college has also banned many mass recruiting companies. Internships of the students are only conidered once authorised by the admin.
Placement Experience
Placements are very good in this college. Maximum salary going upto 80 lakhs per annum. Average salary considering all department would be around 12-13 LPA. The placements rate is also very good, above 87% for all the branches of this college.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am in third semester general student with family income above 5 lakhs. For the first semester, fees is the highest, at around one lakh thirty thousand then it subsides to around 97000 per semester. For generalstudents, tution fees is 62500 and all other fees like lab fees, transport etc all sum upto 11000, for family income students between 1 to 5 lakhs tution fees is around 20833, and for SC, ST, PWD and family income less than 1 lakh tution fees is 0. And hostel/mess fees for all students is 22500.
Campus Life
The infrastructure here is good we have separate billions for each department, we have many hostels for both boys and girls and separate hostels for all years. The classrooms are ok. Roads and services are also ok. All the essential things are within two minutes of walking. There are many trees and lakes. We have sports complex football and cricket grounds tennis courts. Sports ground for basketball badminton and table tennis. We also have a gym. Overall campus life is good.
Hostel Facilities
There are many hostels for both boys and gitls and for all the year students.The rooms are big enough so two students can stay in there. The meals are just eatable. We have both veg and non-veg option. There arespecial dinner for many functions, events and festivals too. We have 24/7 LAN and wifi connectivity too.
Admission
I chose this college because I wanted to learn about new cultures here in Silchar. It has a very scenic view with lots of trees lakes and many things. It has lots of places to go to and also a very big area span of the college. Placements and internships are also very good.
Faculty
We have classes five days a week, Saturday and Sunday are off.. We have classes from morning till evening. There will be classes 3 hours long. We have a mid semester end semester a minor exam and sessionals which all sum up to 100 marks. 75% attendance is compulsory for sitting in the end semester exams. Never miss lab. Exams are quite OK and the marking system is also good. On average we have a very friendly academic culture. All the faculty members of the college live inside the college. They have their own quarters. Apart from professors PhD scholars M. Tech students will either get classes of B.Tech students or will work as lab assistants. Professors here maintain a diplomatic relation with the students, they help the students only if they want to, still the faculty here is quite friendly and helpful. Some of the helpful teachers are Srinivasan sir, Pankaj Biswas sir, Jyotika mam, Ripon sir etc.
