Course Curriculum Overview

4

BA economics hons. is a very hectic and tough course. It included mathematics more than economics so you need to be well-versed and comfortable with mathematical concepts and problem-solving, otherwise surviving in this course is pretty tough. It's both theory-based and practical, the real-life problems help us connect the concepts with real life. There are two IAs(Internal Assessments) every semester and 1 final semester-end exam stretched for a month. The teaching methods can be improved using more audio-visual learning platforms.

Internships Opportunities

4

Companies like Kepler Cannon, BCG, Accenture etc offer dream internships with stipend ranging from 15k-1lakh per month. Smaller companies offter 3k-20k per month. The roles vary, it can be internal auditor, research intern, sales and marketing intern etc.

Placement Experience

4

Students are eligibile for internships right from their first year, for that you have to sign the internship policy. These are paid as well as unpaid opportunities depending upon the companies offering them. Many reputed companies come to LSR for internships and campus placements including Barclays, DeShaw, BCG, Kepler Cannon, Accenture, Paytm etc. The highest pacakge from LSR was bagged by an economics hons student of the batch 2023, it was 49 LPA. The average package is 11 LPA while the median pacakage is 9 LPA. After getting the degree you can either opt for further studies or campus placements. I'm thinking about sitting from placements but the option for further studies is still open.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the first year, we paid 19,920 rs in total which included the registration and every other fee. The fees decreses for the second year and till now no notification has come as such but the fees for Delhi University colleges is very minimal. Examination form is to be filled every year and that time examination fee is paid which ranges from 2k-5k, depending upon your course and how many practical subjects you have. Financial aid is provided in terms of scholarship for which you have to have a total family income of less then 3lpa.

Campus Life

4

The social and campus life of LSR is peaceful and slow paced, it's not very eventful. The annual fest isn't great and most of the times students from other colleges are denied entry to maintain the "exclusivity" of LSR. But here you'll meet some of the most brilliant minds, some of the upcoming great women who are going to shape the future of our country. every classroom has a working projector. There is a big area for sports and many sports are available under NSO. NSS LSR is also very reputed with more than 20 projects focusing on various social development aspects. Enactus LSR focuses on social entrepreneurship and is also very prrestigious.

Admission

Through DU CSAS allotment SRCC was my first preference and LSR ranked as my second one. I didn't get SRCC because I didn't score enough in CUET exams to enter SRCC, that year the cutoffs went at 780/800 something for Economics Hons at SRCC. I am happy that I got LSR and not SRCC because LSR feels so comfortable and safe. The eligibility of this course is having studied mathematics in your senior secondary and then you have to take the CUET exams held every year by NTA.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio is pretty decent with comfortable number of faculty in every department. The fsculty is very approachable, atleast of my department. They are always ready to solve our doubts, they try pushing us to our limits and making us come out of our comfort zone but also aren't harsh. My department has many senior faculty members who are very well experienced and know what they're teaching, same for other departments. Many of them are even LSR alumni.

Other Applied Colleges

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
