Remarks

College is situated at a very good natural location between the hills, it focuses more on academic knowledge but took a hefty amount of money each semester. You will not get to enjoy city life if you live in campus hostel but it's like heaven for guys who like peace.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Petroleum department of the college regularly updates its curriculum. This practice is done to improve the curriculum every year by analyzing past results and overcoming past mistakes. Right now, the curriculum is good and it matches with other good colleges too. They try to teach maximum so that during placements you are eligible for most of the companies.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college tries to send each and every student for summer internships in core companies after the third year and it is almost successful in this area. Stipend and incentives vary greatly according to the company. Some companies even come in college for providing internships to 3rd-year students, these companies generally pay a stipend and some incentives, a stipend may vary here from 6000 rs. to 25,000 rs. After that resumes of students are forwarded to different companies in order to provide internships, here stipend may range from 0 rs. to 10000 rs. My experience of summer internship was excellent, it was a good and famous oil and gas company. I got to learn so much about the practical field operations, though no stipend was provided food and accommodation was on the company.

Placement Experience

3

On campus, placements are not very good like IITs but still better than most of the tier-2 engineering colleges in India. My college placements sound good in number, they try to maintain a placement ratio of more than 90% every year, though the quality of placements is not such great. The average package of petroleum branch goes around 6 lakhs per annum (6LPA).

College Events

3.5

College hosts 1 cultural and 1 technical fests every year. 1) UURJA: cultural fest of the year. It is a mid-budget fest which organizes all the possible cultural events and intent college and inter-college competitions and concerts, etc. 2) IGNITE technical fest of the year. According to me, it is a bit low budget fest and all the technical events and inter and inter-college competitions of all departments and branches are organized.

Fee Structure And Facilities

This is the biggest negative point in college. The college is now getting a bad name because of it's high and unreasonable academic fees charged. Plus it increases every year and apart some extra amount is also taken on the name of industrial visits, computing fees, certificate courses, etc. The hostel fees are high and the fees structure can be found on the university website.

Fees and Financial Aid

College used to provide scholarship to students who got merit in their respective 12th class board examinations. After that 3 toppers of every branch with a GPA of greater than 9.0 provided scholarships but now they have stopped this facility. A small number of fees can be pardoned if students' family gets into a serious economic crisis in between.

Campus Life

3

Nowadays college has started to take a stand on all extracurricular activities. Now every Wednesday it hosts an event of extracurricular activities (dancing, singing, plays, etc.) On different themes every time. The college has the facility of indoor badminton courts, table tennis, volleyball court, basketball court and a common medium-sized ground for Cricket and football.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel infrastructure is good when you see it outside. There is lush green grounds, common room, tv room, open badminton country, and Table tennis facility. But interior facilities are not so good. Rooms are good but they are to be shared among 3 Students. No attachment of bathroom or washrooms.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, alumni network and senior students of college always help current students whenever possible. They come for guest lectures on college, organize orientations where they provide a glimpse of industry and suggest our path to follow. The alumni network even help us to get better internships and placements.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is similar to other government engineering colleges. We get our grades based on our 1) mid-semester exam perform (20% of total grade) 2) internal performance (30% of total grade), the internal assessment includes your attendance, assignments submission, class tests, your activeness in classroom discussions, etc. 3) end semester exams (50% of the total grade. Passing criteria for passing each exam is to get a minimum of 40 marks in each subject.

Admission

I registered for the college thru its website www.upes.ac.in. they open admission portal in around December for upcoming session where you register and a lot of dates are provided for its entrance examination. I gave it the exam, got AIR 302 and was called for counseling in Delhi. I went there and chose petroleum engineering branch among all the branches listed.

Faculty

3.5

For your core subjects, the college has a great set of faculty but unfortunately, it is not true for all basic subjects, practical subjects, and lab assistants. Theoretical knowledge and deliverability capacity of professors are good but some lack of practical teaching of the subject.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is highly relevant, focusing on practical knowledge for real-world prep, though more hands-on application and updated content would strengthen it. Exams occur 6 times yearly; they are tough but fair for the course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of its affordability and the teaching quality of this college is good . They helps in choosing the real life application based projects . Teaching methods are impressive but they don't provide notes . We have make notes by attending class regularly. Frequency and timings of exams are of 3 hrs. For each subject . Difficulty level is moderate and students can prepare it well in the gap days also .
