Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Curriculams are good. We have classes from 8:30 to 5:30 but its not continuously sometimes gets over by 12:30 and sometimes if classes are starting from 12:30 it will end at 4:30 so it depends and mostly teachers take class they dont cancel it until and unless there is an urgency for eg a strike, protest or they have a meeting etc. We have a half an hour eca break every tuesday where some or the other thing is happening like society doing some act or we are having workshops so student can attend any of these as per their choice.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

As i mentioned there is a separate group createe where all the internship opportunities are posted for every year student starting from the first year itself. Student can fill the forms in which they are interested . We get internship from all kinds like for marketing, design, editing, hr, for science studnets also. One need to fill the form, give the interview or any other round to clear as per need of the particular company to get the internship and you are good to go.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement cell is very much active, we have a group for each year separately where all the opportunity, placement, jobs, volunteering jobs are posted and whoever is interested can fill the given form. One can sit for the placement in their third year. Corporates like Boston Consulting Group, Bain and Company, Ernst and Young (E&Y), KPMG, The D.E Shaw Group, Accenture, PwC, Nation with Namo, Wipro, American Express, Deloitte India, Deloitte USI, NIIT, Genpact, Protiviti, Capital IQ, UrbanClap, Grofers, Zomato, Evalueserve, Inshorts, have been consistently recruiting from Gargi College for the past few years now. The highest package offered in the session 2023-24 was INR 21.05 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid around 15000 in my first year and around 18000 in my second year. For students in other categories like SC/ST/OBC, the tuition fees are often reduced or waived under certain conditions.SC/ST/OBC Students Tuition fees may be waived or highly subsidized. Development fees, lab fees, and miscellaneous charges typically apply but are lower than the general category. Total Yearly Fees: ?15,000 - ?18,000 (approx) . And for general category fees is around 25000 - 27000 depending on the course one is pursuing or wants to pursue. Coming to the awards and scholarships, it offers awards of excellence, best all rounder award, sarah thomas memorial award for science students in botany, zoology. and many more.

Campus Life

3.5

We have a lot of socieities who perform in various festivals and they have their annual act at the end of the year. They also conduct many events and competition and many other colleges also participate. We have various festivities like navotsav for navratri, zitsava for diwali, annual fest -reverie and many more. Department also have their separate departmental functions. Books and journal are also accessible from the library. You are provided with laptops in a the small sitting room inside library. Youll get every genre of books you are looking for. You have to make entries first at the reception area where you have to fill your basic details and time you enter the library. It also has the cctvs

Admission

Okay so i applied to many or say almost all the college of du and as we had the preference list system i got alloted this college according to my preference according to the marks i secured. Firstly this college has a good ranking and has a+ naac rating also its a girls college so more comfortable . You get into college earlier by the 12th marks but now one gets admission through the cuet exam. Cutoffs are different for different courses and different colleges.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty are very good in gargi overall. I almost like every faculty of our course because they are very understanding, they are strict to some extend but thats fair if u have genuine reasons they wont tell you anything. They are educated and i love the way they teaches. They keep on track students strength and weakness through regular tests, assignment, presentation etc. We have doubts sessions too. And teachere are willing to help. I liked saachi mam she is a strict teacher but i love her she is a good person and a teacher. Personally i dont have any teacher that i dislike but when teachers get extremely strict or point you out everytime even though it was not your fault its annoying for me. There are some teachers who do favoritism. Coming to papers, there are 3 core papers and 3 side papers which include sec vac aec ge . I would not say they are tough as such i mean if you study you'll get marks. And mostly student pass if u study. So study hard, you'll make it.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
