Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is very good as I have mentioned earlier that it is a government University so all the information which is in our courses are through by goverment servey and all. We had a gap of 6 months for our each semesters exams.

Internships Opportunities

1

No company came to IGNOU. It actually depends on the course which we have taken and not on the university. For us there were no placement most probably it might be available for science students and commerce students but for art's I have seen none so far.a

Fees and Financial Aid

In IGNOU the fees structure is very affordable admission fees was 1500 rupees and registration fees was 4500 per year. Exams fees are 200 per exams so that is total 2400 with 12 subjects. Per semester 3 exams.

Campus Life

3

There are many annual and technical festival yearly held in IGNOU not monthly. The library is vast and we can get a decent amount of books from there. The class rooms are not digitalized. We can represent our university IGNOU in all national sports if permitted by the university. I have not came across any students groups or clubs as for now.

Admission

I applied in St Anthony's college Shillong and I was studying there for about 1 year 6 months I had given 9 exams in total but due to COVID I had to dropout. So IGNOU was the best option for me as I can work and study at a comfortable time. No I didn't get rejected from any other college as I directly joined St Anthony's college Shillong. The addmission process of IGNOU is to go to a cyber open IGNOU website and apply by submitting all of your information and documents 10+12 marksheets. No age limit is there in IGNOU which is great. And no mark criteria. We just need to wait for the confirmation.

Faculty

3

The student ratio was good and classes were available for everyone on the weekends. Sorry won't mention names. Not mentioning names. There are 24 exams in total 3 exams per semesters and the exams are easy if we study for a decent amount of time. The courses are very much relevant to the curriculum as it is very decorated source of information through government. Conducting survey and everything they came to a conclusion of many things in our book.

Night Life

4

Most of the time after our classes we go to cafeteria and talk about our life over a cup of tea/coffee. IGNOU is mostly distant learning so we have to go to nearby study centre for classes and it depends on the study centre of what kind of environment they provide. In IGNOU you can roam within a certain area and it is completely safe because it is protected by the government so police and security is always there and you just need to carry your ID.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
