Course Curriculum Overview

4

My goal was to do UPSC CSE after college and the curriculum if seen closely is too much related to the Cse syllabus so that was the reason i chose this couse The currriculum would give you a new perspective to see the world Subjects like history sociology psychology would nurture you into becoming best of you To be honest i dont think the course need improving , its just better faculties should be alloted for the Public administration the exam is moderate level like all the university exams you will get enough gaps in between the examination to prepare for it

Fees and Financial Aid

the fees for first year is 7400rs Here the first year fees breakdown Tution fees : Rs 1100 Examination fees : 1000 Library fees : 300 Lab caution fees : 0 Game fees : 600 Other charges ( misc.) : 3800 after this the fees in the second year is 6700 and in third year it is 6950 ( breakdown is not given ) obc/sc/st all have to pay the same fees The scholarship is given to the top 5 students it depends on the administration nothing has been fixed so far Any student who is physically disabled and dont have parents is exempted from paying any fees

Campus Life

4

the university offer a inclusive campus life , cultural events , and extracurricular activities along with the academics to ensure that students can take out the best of them lots of fests are held usually around the time period of february to april like zephyr - held around Feb - March Techfest held in march by the engineering faculty and many more fests The Dr.Zakir Hussain Library here is hub of almost 4 lakh books and journals . there are spacious reading halls and E- library facilities are also there. for reseach there are other resources like JSTOR and Springer is also available Sports facilities include football ground , cricket stadium , indoor games like tennis, and chess There are wide range of cultural clubs and societies - debate society , Quiz clud ,drama clud etc are some of them

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities are much better that average central universities the rooms are 3 seater - table& chair , beds , and private cupboard are provided to all the hostelers the food is just ok considering its mess food both veg and non veg is provided here one occasions like Eid and diwali special menu is served Registration process is simple you will have to fill form whenever it is released usally one month after your admission and then points are given based on criteria and then an interview will be take and then the hostel will be given on meri based the hostels are affordable it would cost one around 44000 for first year and from next year it would be 41000

Admission

i applied to almost every big college except for DU cause i didnt want to go there .... I got selection in BHU , AMU, LU but didnt chose them firsty cause of its location i.e. Delhi and secondly it's the best in india for my couse no i didnt get any rejection from any college that i applied to to get admission here one has to give entrance examination ... for some courses like B.A. Political Science ( hons ) and B.A. , B.A. Sociology ( hons ) etc one has to give the entrance the is conducted by the university itself while for some couses like B.A. History ( hons ) and B.A. Economic ( hons ) one has to give CUET UG EXAMINATION the cutoff for the CUET courses lies around 85-90% while for the courses the the college conducts entrance the cutoff usually ranges in between 50-80 % for some couses like BALLB the cutoff can go as high as 90 % too but that is just a rare case the most famous courses are BALLB and Political Science ( hons ) After the entrance the list is uploaded on their website for the selected students and if you name is there kudos go to the university with the metioned documents and you admission will be done

Faculty

4

During the 2.5 years i've been taught by multiple faculties my core was sociology, public administration and history so i'd tell about that Sociology - One of the best faculties that i've studied from belong to the sociology department First year - I was taught by Imtiaz Ahmad Ansari sir the whole year he just made the subject so easy and interesting , he used to teach us in an interactive way so it was never boring Second year - 3rd sem was taught from Roma Bhattacharya she too was great but since i've studied from Imtiaz Sir she was just okayish for me 4th sem a PhD scholar taught us so it was just not a good experience Third year - 5th sem was taught by Nupur maam she's a PhD scholar too but she was just great her teaching style was too much diff from the other faculties id say Imtiaz Sir and Nupur maam were the best faculties History - First year - 1st sem ancient history Taught by PhD scholar so meh 2nd sem - Was taught by Rohma Javed Rashid - her way of teaching damn it was so top class she just used to make history so interesting i'd rate 4/5 for her favouring girls more than boy 2nd year taught by Dr.Samar Rizvi sir he too was just master of his subject Mordern history he too use to make class so much interesting Public Administration The worst faculties were from here only they were like really not at all good socio and history faculties were best

Interview Experience

4

No I didn't face any group discussion but there is an extrance objective exam that is needed to be cleared for taking admission The paper has 3 sections One is Reasoning, second is english and the third is general studies and current affairs all these comprise of 100 questions and each carry 1 marks The paper also consists of negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong choice so one must only mark answers that they are fully sure of I prepared most of it from YouTube and solved previous year papers

Night Life

5

The night life in and around jamia is usually relaxed and vibrant at the same time , it offers students varoius ways to unwind aftere a long day On Campus , students frequent the Central canteen , famous for its snacks and hangout point and Prem's Chai is a must try for all the chai lovers. Maggie point and Hygenic are other hangout places the library closes at around 5pm while the reading hall opens till 1am at night and during examinations it is open till 2am and university also closes when the reading halls close the Boys hostel is open 24/7 with no restriction ..... the girls hostel entry and exit is barred from 10pm onwards offcampus students can visit zakir nagar for the delish , Tikona Park for peaceful evening and ofcourse delish , NFC is a bit expensive but a great area to hangout The locality is totally safe at night time , and the combination of on campus and off campus activities helps student unwind , bond with peers, and create lasting memories during college days

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

The curriculum was overall good and being a economics honours courses it was challenging at times. The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
