Course Curriculum Overview

4

My course is very relevant to the curriculum as it teaches about the English fictions and novels and poems which helps us understand the art of literature. The teachers improves our critical thinking skills which helps us in understanding the novel in a better way. The frequency and timing of exams is moderate and it is not that difficult. And the teachers teachs us very beautifully so i don't think that tgere is any requirement for any other techniques.

Admission

I had given the CUET exam and i have scored 768/800.I had applied for only two colleges 1) Hindu & 2)Hansraj. I missed hindu college just because of 2 marks as the cutoff was 770 for Hindu college that's why i wasn't able to make it to Hindu. There is only one process of admission and that is CUET. The students have to appear for CUET after passing their 12th and they have to select subjects from their own domain. They have to select 3 domain subject and 1 Language subject. After giving exam of these subjects you will be eligible for taking admission in DU. But the cutoffs are very high so try to Top in Cuet, then only you will be able to get into DU.

Faculty

5

The faculty is great they are highly qualified and everyone holds a Phd.degree.The ratio between faculty member and student is 10:100 . They are easily approachable, you can call them personally in any emergency and they will be there for helping you. There is Arnab sir in my course and i love the way how he teaches. There are semester wise exams happen in my college and also at the end of the semester there are internals also which our faculty members take. The marking scheme is the combination of internals and semester exams and the results come in a manner of CGPA. Also the exams are very relevant to the curriculum. And it is very rarely that a student gets failed in the exam

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
