Likes
- Campus is very beautiful and greenish with 20-21 lakes in the campus.
- Professors are so good and supportive. They solve every doubts of every student.
- Hostel is also good and with facilities such as water purifier and guessers etc.
Dislikes
- Ragging is still happening there and no professors or someone can stop the powerful seniors.
- Bribery is an issue there. We have a technical fest named technoesis, in which there are some technical events in which students can participate and win cash prizes. This cash prize is never disbursed to the winner. Organisers and Dean take it.
- Sports facility is not good there. Roughly 2-3 equipments are working in the college GYM
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is not so much relevent in the first year as there are so many non related subjects to your branch, but it becomes relevant in upcoming years as there are those branch related subjects only. The frequency and timing of exams are perfect and the difficulty I would rate 6/10.
Internships Opportunities
NIT Silchar provides internship from fifth semester in major companies such as google, microsoft etc with stipent varying from fifteen thousand to one lakh.I dont know about the roles for the internship yet as I am in the second semester at present.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements in the 7th semester itself. Big companies like google microsoft amazon accenture visit NIT Silchar for placements and offers enormous number of opportunities to students. Highest package this year was 55 lakhs and avarage is about 11 lakhs. Percentage of students getting placed this year has fallen down due to recession conpares to last year to 65%. While last year it was 88-89%

Campus Life
Overall experience with campus is very good.We have technical fest named Technoesis and a cultural fest named incandescis. Library in the NIT Silchar campus is the biggest digital library in asia containing almost every book you need. Sports facility is not so much good but yet very appealing. There are number of clubs and societies in the college for every domain.
Hostel Facilities
There is a fan and a tube light installed in the room and there is a pair of table and chair provided to every student living in the hostel. Food quality is not very good but eatable. Registration process of hostel is very simple and done at the time of admission itself. hostels are affordable.
Admission
I applied to other government engineering colleges based on my JEE mains rank, that were near to my home. But with my JEE mains rank I got NIT Silchar. For admission in my college the student needs to secure a good rank in JEE Mains and then he/she can apply in JOSAA counselling rounds for selection in my college.
Faculty
Faciltu to stdudwnt ratio is good,I dint know the exact figure yet,Faculty to student relationship is very good as they are very easily approachable,they ask us to come to their cabin if we have any doubt academic or jon academic. I liked all the faculties whoever taught me any subject there. There are total of 3-4 exams depending on the professor of the particular subject, we have mid-semester exams then comes minor exams and then comes end semester exams for theoritical subjects and practical examinations are there for practical subjects, professor can take class test if they want in between the semester whenever they want.
Night Life
Nightlife is so good there at NIT silchar campus as you can roam around in big campus at any time you want. You can go to NITS cafe or T-Point for some relaxation. There is no in timings in the hostel for boys.
