The Correct Decision(NIT Silchar)

You would actually start learning about your course from 2nd Year. In 1st year you would be taught about each and every discipline like Physics, Chemisty, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering etc.

Many internship opportunities are offered to the students by companies like Myntra, Google, Microsoft ,Accenture, Citi Bank offereing students data analyst, software developer and etc, and if student is interested in core role then companies like hpcl, bpcl, HUL, Jindal steel etc. approaches the students.

From 7th Semester (3rd Year) onwards students are elligible for campus placements and also our institute has Training and Placement Cell which helps student with getting their placement. Many top tech giants like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Nvidia, L&T, and Goldman Sachs visit our campus for placements.

The semester wise tution fees is around 110000(GEN/EWS/OBC and family income gtreater than 5 Lakh) , If your family income is in between 1 to 5 lakh(GEN/EWS/OBC) than you get a 2/3rd tution fee wavier and if it is below than 1 Lakh than you get full tution fee wavier and also if you are from SC/ST then also full tution fee wavier. As for hostel+mess fee every body have to pay around 22500 per semester there you won't get any tution fee wavier. Many scholarships like NSP,PMSS,Bharti Airtel Scholarship, and many more scholarships are guven.

Our institue organizes two major fests Incandescence (Cultural Fest) and Tecnoesis(Tech Fest) which is organized by students of our institutes also many motivational sessions (IAS or IPS and many industry experst are called) are held. We have access to India's Biggest Digital Library which covers wide variety of books and Journals. We have many Clubs like Illuminits, Advay (Drama nad Theaters), SymphoNITS (Music), NERDS, GDSC, Obittivo (Photography), Coding, IEEE, IEI ,ASME etc. also we have NCC, NSS in our institute and apart from that we have Gyansagar which is atudent-run social group. Our institutes facilitates all kinds of sports whether it be Basketball, Football, Cricket, Chess, Badminton, Javelin and many more.

The hostel rooms are generally double sharing or triple sharing and in rare cases it is single for first and second years. The room provided are spacious enough for 2 to 3 people containing a Balcony , Wardrobe, Chairs, Table and Bed and a Lan Connection also. The bathroom and washroom is shared for each floor. You would get Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks with tea/cofee at evening and dinner. Their is separate area for vegeterians and non-vegeterians.The hostel charge is 22500 per semsester (including food and accomodation).

I gave Jee Mains and Advanced and qualified for both but my rank was not that good in Jee Advanced so I got admission in NIT Silchar by my Jee Mains Rank. I applied for this college because of the opportunities, faculty, fests and campus. I applied for admissions in AIT Pune, JAC Delhi Counselling, JAC Chandigarh and IIST Counelling , now I didn't get admission in IIST and good branches of DTU, NSUT , thus the universities I was left with among them the best option was NIT Silchar.

The faculty members are good and supportive if you also want to work and eager to learn. 75% attendance criteria is necessary but if you are in range of 70-75% they will try to increase your attendance. Some of the professors are considered among top professors . In 1st and 2nd semester you will have Mid-sem, Class test , Assignments, Minors ands at last End sem. Now it depends upon the faculty how they do marks distribution but each subject is of 100 marks.

The institute facilitates a cafeteria, gym and Library which is very crowded during daytime. At Night-time you could experience the rustle and bustle within the campus and outside the campus as there are many Restaurants around the campus.
