Course Curriculum Overview

4

Subjects like SEC and VAC are provided with the aim of enhancing a student's knowledge. My course B.A (economic) hons has 3 core subjects: MME, SME and introductory micro. All these subjects relate with the practical knowledge and really helps if a student wants to pursue his/her career in data analyst and management. Exams happen twice a year with moderate difficulty level. A suggestion for improvement in the course curriculum is to update the syllabus and introduce new books.

Internships Opportunities

4

The p-cell always informs in the college groups about the intership opportunities. Companies like Deloitte and Pwc offers internships to the college students under the roles like data analyst and accounts management with stipend ranging from rs 5000 and above.

Placement Experience

5

The highest package of DU (49 lpa) was from the economics department of lady Shri Ram College. The average package of colleges around 6-8 lakh. The placement cell of the college is very active and maintains its relationship with companies to invite them to college. Students become eligible for placements from the first year itself. But, companies prefer 2nd and 3rd year students as they have some experience.after their UG, many students plan to pursue master degree while, other go for placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fee for B.A (economics) hons is approx 21000. The fee is more or less same to the previous years. The college fee is really affordable as compared to other colleges and universities. Also, the college provides various scholarships like: merit -cum-need based scholarships are available each year along with freeships in which college provides financial assistance to those students whose family income is below rs 3,00,000. To avail these scholarships one has to fill the google form provided by college and provide documents for verification of income and other proofs.

Campus Life

5

The LSR campus is peaceful, pleasant and aesthetic. Covered with greenery all around. There are various societies ( like dancehoc, IFSA, students council) in which students can take part ( as per their interest) after clearing interviews. Students participate in events happening in the college and make new connections. The latest event happened in the college was Heathers day. The infrastructure of new building provides clear washroom and spacious classes. However, the old building needs renovation as the classes there are really small.

Admission

To get admission in LSR or in any other DU college one has to appear for cuet exam conducted by NTA. Specifically, for economics hons one must have mathematics in his/her 11th and 12th. I chose LSR over other DU colleges because of its alumni network and brand name. It has nurtured individuals like manu Bhaker who are making our country proud. Moreover, it is remarkably proving itself in academics and sports. Since class 12th my dream college was SRCC but I couldn't make into it because my cuet marks were lower than its cutoff.

Faculty

4

The college follows the NEP to keep pace with the developing education system. In a year there are 2 semesters. There are 3 core subjects in all courses. Besides, there are subjects like GE, VAC, SEC and AEC. GE is the subject in which a student gets minor degree. Also the faculty is really helpful. They focus on both academics and practical knowledge. The tutorials happening in the college helps us to clear our doubts.

Night Life

3

During the lunch time, mostly students are in the college canteen. While between the class break students relax in the exhibition hall and the back lawn. Also, in front of nescafe there happens most of the events during RnR. The famous place inside the college is the front lawn, which has the iconic LSR logo. The hostel of the college is under renovation but it too has a lawn in front of it. Most of the college events happens during the day time only so there is no late-night activities and events.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
