Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive knowledge of the subject. Because of NEP you'll have to study 7 subjects( 3 major 4 minor) for 1 sem. It sometimes becomes very difficult to handle all of that with the side hustle that you might be doing along with your college. Teachers can focus a little more on the understanding of the students rather than on course completion. Since, there are so many subjects, to manage two tests, assignments, presentations is difficult to handle but you'll learn to handle the pressure like everyone does.

Placement Experience

5

A lot of people from this course sit for the placements and some do not. You do not have to rush for the placements immediately in your first semester. Give yourself time to explore your intersets and then make a decission and start working towards it. If you want to sit for the placements, you'll have to build a very good CV, score good marks and improve your communication skills. LSR has on of the best placement record. Companies like Mc Kinsey, BCG, EY, Delloite are among the top recruiters with an average package of ?900000-?1100000. Highest package of 2024 was of ?49 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

For B.A(hons.) Economics, the total tuition fees is around ?61470 for the three year course for the academic year 2024-25 for all categories except for pwBD students. Fees for pwBD students is ?1550 for all courses. This fees structure might change a little bit for the next academic years.

Campus Life

4

The academic pressure in LSR is balanced by the diferent fun events organised by the the Student's Union. The Diwali Fest NOOR is conducted in October, TARANG and ECONVISTA are conducted in March and there are many more events that are held from time to time. Not just fun events but a lot of insightful speaker sessions and workshops are conducted quite regularly. Books and journals are easily available in the library and the issuing process is quite simple. There is a computer application in the library which makes it very easy to find the book of your choice in the vast space. Classrooms are well equipped with projector facilities. Students of NSO have a wide variety of sports to choose from. From Basketball to shooting, facilities for most of the sports are available. There are a lot of clubs and societies that are actually very active and will provide you a great exposure and will help you immensely in improving your personality.

Admission

I had applied for almost all the DU colleges. LSR was my second prefernce and my first preference was SRCC. I couldn't get SRCC because I wasn't able to clear it's cut off but I certainty do not regret taking Admission in LSR as it is one of the best colleges of India with a great placement record. It offers you great opportunities that help you to grow in your life. To get admission here you have to give the entrance exam CUET which is conducted by NTA. There are some requirements that you have to fulfill to be eligible for specific courses. For B.A(hons.) Economics this is the criteria: Pass 10+2 from a recognised board with minimum 50% . Some relaxation is given to the reserved categories. Exams that are compulsory to give: One language from list A Mathematics/Applied Mathematics Two subjects with one from list B1.

Faculty

4

Faculty-to-student ratio is quite good. Most of the teachers are approachable and friendly. Not all teachers are exceptional. They will definitely speed up your syllabus like anything when the exams will approach. Some teachers are actually very good with an amzing teaching style and friendly nature. Mrs. Reshmi Ganguly mam, our stats teacher is exceptionally knowledgeable and sweet and puts so much efforts to teach in the class. You'll not need to see any youtube video or take any other help for this subject. Internals are divided into two parts- IA and CA IA will consist marks of two tests and your lecture attendance. CA will consist marks of an assignment and attendance for the tuts( doubt clearing sessions). Difficulty level generally depends upon the teacher but otherwise the tests are manageable. Course curriculum is quite relevant and you'll manage to gather a lot of knowledge of relevant to the course.

Night Life

3

The locality is quite safe. There is police van always in front and back of the college. Cafe,Nescafe, Exhibition hall are the most famous places among students to hangout. There is this famous Moolchand Parantha Restaurant near college where you can go to. It is safe to roam around at night but it is prefferd that if you are going out at night , go with your friends and not alone.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
