Course Curriculum Overview

4

I love literature which is why I opted for this course. I think literature teaches us a lot about the history and humans and the world in general. The course is good however I think we should have more marginalized authors in our course and it should delve into the practicality and workings of Literary sectors where you can get a job.

Placement Experience

3

I think the placement is a bit iffy. It mostly depends on the course you're pursuing. If it isn't economics or commerce related then the chances of getting the placement is quite low. And if you do get a placement it might not be as well paying as the commerce ones.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for every year ranges from 17000 to 20000 for english hons. There isn't any changes in fee structure for SC/ST or EWS. There is however a slight different fee structure when it comes to PwBD students as they pay a total amount of 1550 every year, regardless of the course.

Campus Life

5

There are two fests held in LSR, noor and tarang. Tarang is held in the first week of march whereas noor is held around diwali. We do have a good library and college also provides us a free access to online libraries like Jstor and Nlist. The sports faculty is also quite good but improvements on equipments can be made. There are a lot of societies and various NGO related activities are conducted by NSS

Admission

I applied to st. Stephens and hindu. I really wanted to get into them but couldn't clear the cut off which is but my fault. The admission process into my college is through CUET and online portals. You need minimum of 760+ if you're in general category to clear the cut off in first round.

Faculty

4

I am not quite sure about the ratio but the faculty is quite good as I previously mentioned. The teachers of my course particularly are really friendly and approachable. However, there are always a few exceptions. I don't really have a teacher I disliked but my favourite faculty this sem was Sridhi das, she is the sweetest teacher ever and I know this sounds very childish but that's just how she is.

Night Life

4

Since we don't have hostels and I don't live in a nearby PG I'm not quite sure. But I think the most frequently visited places are amar colony and lajpat. People also eat at moolchand paratha as it is near college and provides affordable food. But safety has been a major concern for the girls of LSR.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
