Course Curriculum Overview

3

My course is BA Prog(ENG+SOCIO). I got this course because of my preference list. My aim is upsc so i thought sociology is best for it. It is very static subject.English is also very interesting. Ilike reading books. One thing i dont like about Ba prog is choosing GE as language subjects. I basically study 3 language subjects in a semester which i find waste of time. Instead i could study other subjects like history, political science. The examination is moderate leve. Usually everyone passes.

Internships Opportunities

4

The average intership stipend is 10,000 per month. Various companies like Bajaj capital and apna campus has given opporyunities to the students. They are given different roles such as content writing, event management, social media handle, finance advisor etc.

Placement Experience

3

Students of 4th semester are eligible to sit in college placements. Many companies like deloitte and air india has recruited members. The highest package was 23.5 lpa and the average ctc is 5.7 lpa. it also provides internships with 50k as highest stipend and 10k as average stipend. The highest package reached in 2024 was 5.6lpa by bajaj capital. I'm not focusing on camus placement rather i'm wishing to complete my masters and give competitve government exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

During the time of my admission in 2023 i paid around Rs 11500 for the BA PROG. In 2024, total fee was 12855. Below is the breakdown of the fees university student welfare fund-250 university development fund- 1200 university facilities and service charges- 1250 ews support university fund- 200 tution fee- 180 college student welfare fund- 3994 college development fund- 1763 However, recently college is refunding 550 from the fee. There is also extra examination form fee excluded from the overall fee. Each semester students have to pay for the examination form fee which is 1100 for BA Prog course. Foreign students have to 21780 addition to the above fee. PwBD fee for UG is rs 155. The college awards fees to meritorious students to the extent of 20% of the total fees. The college also provides exemption of tution fee to all sc and st whose parents income is below taxable limit. Delhi University holds competitive exam for the award of Rs 250 per month.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is very cool. The environment is very friendly and safe. The college organises its annual cultural fest each year during march and april named Rhapsody. Artists like Ankit tiwari, Arjun kanungo has performed in this college. It organises very competetions too. It has a number of societies like vista, zeal etc for photgraphy, debate, singing, acting and various talents. Each society helps you grow better. The books in the library is easily accessible and you issue the books you want from given library card. Each class is equpped with projectors and classes are very big.

Admission

In my preference list i first placed colleges of north campus and then south campus. I wanted to go to all girls college because of safe environment so i placed Maitreyi college at first position in south campus. My first preference was Miranda House and because of my CUET marks i could not meet its cut off. The admission in my college is through Cuet exam. Students have to appear for the subjects they had studied in class 12. The cut off depends on the category.

Faculty

5

The total number of teachers in this college is 158. The teachers are really very approachable and friendly. Even if someone misses out her practical exams and class tests, the teacher usually re-conduct it for them. They give passing marks even for the poorest performances. The student get 0 only when she does not appear when asked. some teachers personally call students for their absence in class tests. Maitreyi college has the best sociology faculty. They are very energetic loving. They conduct maximum seminars in the college. Before the end sem there is Internal and Contionuous assessment. They are very easy to pass. only absentees fail the exam

Night Life

4

The nearest locality to Maitreyi college is Satya Niketan. It is mostly crowded with college students and is very safe. It has a lot of cafes. Some cafes are expensive and some are at reasonable prices. this loacality has all the facilties like library, gym and salons. Students usually live here in pgs. The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
