Remarks

WiFi is terrible and limited. You only get 15 GB per month. It troubles while connecting to it. It connects and disconnects frequently. It's better to have your own data pack. System of Jamia is poor. Staffs of the Examination Controller are lazy, slow and commit a lot of mistakes due to which many students suffer.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

No matter what course you have, you still have a choice every semester to choose another subject as your CBCS(choice based subject) along with your main course. The best thing is that in CBCS there's variety of course offered by other departments like Fine arts, BBA, B.Com, Tour and Travels and many more. So your passion sticks to you along with your studies. Classes take place regularly.

Internships Opportunities

It's rare. Our department doesn't provide. Some does provide unpaid and even those aren't completely by our own college. Overall no internship is provided. You have to look outside for it. Our University is poor in this case.

Placement Experience

1

Placements are limited to only selected courses. I have hardly heard about placements and job opportunities in our college. Mostly students from Mass Communication , Tour and Travels, Engineering and MBA are offered opportunities. Rest of us survive without it.

College Events

5

There are various events organised by various societies like Drama club, music club and debate club. Department fests are organised annually. Many seminars take place that turns to be very helpful for the students. Jamia foundation day is celebrated as Talimi Mela, the biggest event.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee of the University is very low. Far lower than DU. For the courses of Faculty of Humanities and Languages are around ?7000/- per year including all the charges like library fee, sports fee and some more facilities.

Fees and Financial Aid

College provides scholarships to students those belong to poor family and fee concession is also granted. Also for brilliant students, college provides scholarships to encourage them. Many scholarships are given to required students. And due to low fee , many don't need it.

Campus Life

4.5

Extracurricular activities take place regularly. It's upto students what activity they choose. Every Friday our department organises ELA event under which we have many competitions like poster making, open mic, mono act, poetry, calligraphy and many more interesting activities. Labs are available for students for experiments and in sports complex many sports events keep happening like inter-department football, cricket, basketball etc.

Hostel Facilities

3

Infrastructure of the hostel is good. 24x7 WiFi , library opens upto 2 AM and good medical facility. But no of seats in the hostel is very low. No of seats available for girls'hotel is more than the boys'. So for girls, it's a bit better. Only 4-5 students from each class are able to get hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni meet takes place annually. In Jamia seniors don't help until you approach them. Nobody cares , you have to by yourself. But once you befriend them , they won't let you live until they help you.

Exam Structure

Datesheet is strictly followed. If you miss the test, writing it the next year as back is the only solution. Depending upon the course 2 hrs to 3 hrs is the time given to write the test. No extra time is given, no matter what. Water is being served in between and you can go washroom. Just like the 12th board.

Admission

I applied for it online. First I filled the form. In the form, after details you need to select the names of all the subjects you want to apply for. You don't need to fill separate forms for different subjects as all the process takes place in the same ID. Finally, you have to make payment. Payment gets added automatically per subject. You get notifications for the release of admit cards. Print all the admit cards. After qualifying the test submit the required documents. This submition after qualifying the test is offline. Finally you become a Jamian.

Faculty

4.5

Almost everything is ok. We get what a student wants. freedom to go anywhere, anytime, anyday,no restrictions on using facilities. Separate library for the department and a central library makes it easy for students to issue books.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
