Insights of college

The placement here is decent so i opt this course and for electrical students they have opportunity in both core as well as in it sector. In our curriculum MATLAB is involved which is beneficial there is one image processing lab that is also beneficial as ther e is going to be good opportuinities for this. The course curriculum needs improvement especially there syllabus needs to be updated.Teaching here is good it varies according to professors . I think professors teaches theory very well but sometimes we find it difficult to apply it in practical life. Coming to examinatons there is no gap between consecutive exams and the gap between midsem and endsem is one and half months.

Name of the companies and roles offered under internships with stipend are Optum, Accenture, UBS, Trilogy, Tech Mahindra, Sigmoid above 40000 stipend for different roles. Roles offered are sde,data analyst,business analyst. There are three rounds for internship. First one is OA(online assesment) and then technical round and HR round.

From fifth semester students become eligible for internship opportunities under campus placements. Companies that visit our college were Amazon,ZS,Wipro,Deloitte,Tata Motors,Jindal,Flipkart,Sigmoid and many more. The highest package is 52 lakh and average is 12 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students getting placed is above 90 percent for cse department and above 80 percent for core branches. Here eie placement is also decent its better than electrical department .

The yearly fees for obc category income between 1 lakh - 5 lakh is 63,666. Examination fees is 1200. Admission fee is 1000. Library fee is 500. Sports fee is 1500. Fees for income more than5 lakh is 145,200. Fees for less than 1 lakh is 25,200. Scholarships available are NSP(National Scholarship Portal),ONGC etc for obc and general category.

The names of the annual and technical fests are incandescence and technosis respectively. They are typically held in the month of february and november respectively . The range of book is not that much and accesibility of department books is good and there are journals available in the Library. Classrooms are well equipped and consists of fans . Sports and extracurriculur activities offered in campus is also good .Inter nit takes place every year where other colleges came in our college to participate in different sports. There are various student clubs in our college like 1. GDSC(Google Developers Student Club)-It provides training students with nad on training in Google cloud technologies,include machine learning,data engineering. GDSC members work together to create innovative solutions to real-world problems. 2. GYANSAGAR - Gyansagar aims at creating a difference in the lives of children and people of nearby villages through quality education,awareness programs . 3.Robotics club- A club for students interested in Robotics. 4.ECELL- a club for students interested in entrepreneurship. 5.Coding Club for students interested in coding. 6. AAVEG(dance club) for students interested in dance . 7.ADVAY(dramatics club) for students interested in acting,drama.

Facilities provided in our college includes laundry ,lan network and mess. Mess food is average overall sometimes its good and vice versa also. Menu gets updated after time to time. In hostels there is also tv which is used periodically . Hostel gets cleaned everyday except Sunday and you can also ask didi to clean your room she takes 50 rupees for that. Registration process for hostel is you have to first pay the fees and then submit it to supervisor with warden sign . You can also rent outside the college for living in silchar town .You can get decent places there but i will say hostels are best for your safety in campus and you can also enjoy your campus life here.There is one prefect for each hostels who looks after student needs and also mess members for betterment of food quality. And floor monitors are also there for floorwise students. Here hostels are genrally of three floors . Hostels rae differnt for every year students.First year students hostels are separated from seniors.

I also applied for NIT Patna but i think electrical department of nit silchar is good as comparison to nit patna. For getting admission in Nits we have to qualify jee mains .The cutoff for general category at our time was 91 percentile and for obc its 86 and sc,st was particularly low.After qualification there is counselling process named as JOSAA . It consists of 6 rounds you have to fill colleges alongwith their departments according to your percentile after getting a college you either lock it or apply for next round after locking you won't be able to participate for further rounds.After josaa there is CSAB for the vacant seats of colleges it consists of only two rounds process is same as josaa.After getting selected they provide you a date for physical reporting where you have to be present at the specified dates.

The faculty to student ratio is good. The relationship between student and faculties is not very strong there are professors which is going to help you for your personal development and opposite also some of the professors are rude and strict . The faculty that i personally respect a lot is Rupak Dutta sir he is from Physics department as he is very helpful in terms of academic and thir behaviour towards students is lenient. There are two exams midsems and endsems. Midsem consist of 30 marks and endsem consists of 50 and 20 marks including minor test for 10 marks,assignments and attendance for 10 marks. The level of questions depends on the coure coordinator who is seting the questions. Exams are taken strictly and there are students who fails in exams.Electrical department curriculum is average but exams are taken very seriously even lab exams are also strict compared to other departments.

There is one cafe named NITS cafe and there is a gym in sports club where the timing for boys and girls are different and there is t-point for snacks and jams corner for pastries and cakes. There is 10 hostels for boys and 4 for girls . The intime for senior girls is 9:30 and for junior its 7:30. Hnagout places is Gymkahan Park and fps its a shop for students where every essential items is there from basic to necssary items.Here you can walk safely in night and also go to football ground for playing sports. Outside the campus you can go to Momos stall which is comparatively nice here.
