Course Curriculum Overview

4

It basically depends on how oneself want to improve their own skill in whatever they do. As though basically now I come from history course it is a very interesting and informative subject. I also know the benefits it's going to help me in my upcoming career. Just need some improvements such as it should have a digitally teaching board so that it becomes more easy and interesting for one to understand directly. Cause one cannot understand only by reading books sometimes it also needs more visual ideas inorder to understand.

Fees and Financial Aid

I'm currently a second year student of B.A History Hons at Maitreyi College, University of Delhi. Expected Graduation in 2027. I read other reviews what I found is that they are outdated since a lot has changed and I could experience the differences myself since I study here. Location:- Maitreyi college is located at one of the most safest areas of delhi that is Chanakyapuri which is an embassy area. Nearest metro station is Durgabai deshmukh South campus and Lok kalyan Marg. About College:- Maitreyi college ranks 14 among du colleges and 29 in All over India Ranking. The faculty is very helpful and friendly. The seniors are always ready to guide you. College societies are a must to join. Maitreyi college boast of its fashion society Galore which has been regarded as best fashion society in du. The Western dance society Zeal consists of highly talented girls who can make anyone their fan. I did the mistake of not joining any college society but in may 2024 joined NSS and I must say it has been very exciting journey till now so if you're someone who loves extra curriculars, social activities they are best for you. The campus is very spacious with a number of gardens. You will fall in love with the campus it's so pretty. The classes have been renovated with new comfortable desk. The canteen food is up to the mark at very affordable prices with numerous options. The college has even constructed it's new hostel with around 85 seats which is comfortable and safe. The Annual cultural fest “Rhapsody” 2024 with Arjun Kanungo has been a hell of experience. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year in Maitreyi. Also speaking about "Rhapsody" 25 with Aastha Gill also was an amazing and crazy experience in 2nd year, college also offers very high placements too along with numerous internship opportunities for students. Many students appreciate the quality of education and the curriculum offered, particularly in subjects like English, History, Economics, and Political Science. Rev

Campus Life

Many functions, festivals are always ongoing, Kuch na kuch to hota hi reheta hai college mei. Be it from the societies, department's sports etc. The library is also one good option to be spoken about. As many students are always occupied in it and many a times it's always full that we don't get seat and had to leave the library and come outside and sit in the Open audi under sun .

Admission

So basically it was my dream I must say to study in Delhi University. I use to think about it since I was at my 6th standard. Since we gave cuet and the results took a lot of time to come out so I also dod applied for other colleges as well. But at times I knew I would get into DU but also there was nervousness and fear as the results didn't came and many of my friends already did join there colleges and started their classes and I was sitting in my home. So it's the reason

Faculty

The professor are very much helpful and they are very easily approachable and informative. Test are taken Monthly and assignment, projects, presentation are to be done according to the given time . Exam are not very easy nor too difficult depends upon how one studies. Once you listen to the class and revise it back after sometime then it becomes easy for one to keep it in memory. In my course many of my classmates are very good and they are approachable and helpful in everything. Our department is the best mates I have got .

Night Life

4

Not very much I know about the night life cause I don't stay in hostel but it's mostly peaceful. As our college location is in the embassy area so it's safe and sound to take a walk in the evening time . Satya Niketan is the most near market for the hostelers to comeout and hangout for sometime.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
