Review of my college

The administration is really strict. They will fine you for late coming and for skipping classes and for beard also. But the strictness the enforce is not worth it as they cannot bring good companies and they are really money minded people.

The course curriculum was good but the exam level was quite easy and predictable. The exam was conducted by the University and the University is famous for repeating the previous year questions and marking was very gross.

Placements are only by two IT companies. And there is no internship. There is a industrial training though which had to be managed by students themselves. We had to pay 2000 to a manufacturing company to get the industrial training

Tech fest, Annual sports, Intra department cricket, football, badminton and table tennis competition. Besides that every department used to celebrate the farewell party to bid farewell to the leaving batch.

Fee is feasible. At my time it was about 40k per semester. Now it has increased slightly. There was 1000-1200 rupees fee for examination in every semester. And there were fine for shortage of attendance.

College does not have any scholarship programs. Although being a minority student I used the avail the minority merit cum means scholarship provided by the government. But of you somehow apply and get approved for scholarships college will approve from their side.

Almost every department had their own labs and facilities. Computer labs were quite a few in number and Electronics lab didn't have proper equipments. College used to organise annual sports, cricket, football, badminton, table tennis competetions.

No college does not have any hostel. Most of the students are local and hence they don't require hostel. Those who have come from outside the city used to rent flats themselves or used to stay as paying guests.

The alumni network is pathetic. Literally there is no alumni network. People who pass out with a job gets frustrated within few years as all the jobs are in the IT industry. So seniors who pass out doesn't themselves have a good life.

Appearing in WBJEE and through centralised counselling where I had to select options and I got college according to my marks. WBJEE is the joint entrance examination of the state of West Bengal and it is conducted every year.

10% of them are really good. Most are below average and some are pathetic. Some faculty even does not have the calibre of teaching and handling a class. Some faculties are though very good. They have proper style of teaching but the number of such people are very less.
