Course Curriculum Overview

4

The Curriculum is good in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness. All the subjects that are taught prepare us for real-world application or further academic pursuits. The areas for improvement can include practical knowledge rather than providing the theoretical knowledge and introducing some industry-level training for technical courses.

Placement Experience

3

The placement is as same as that of the normal tier-3 colleges. Mainly, recently-founded startups come there and hire students with an average package of 3 LPA. Major companies that visited were Prodesk IT, Hike Education, Collabera, and Franconnect

Fees and Financial Aid

As when I take admission in the College, it was affiliated to the Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun so the whole fees is decided by the governement. But, now it got converted to university, So there is a major fees change in this. Like when I enrolled the tution fees is 128000/ year (this includes all the registration, examination fees, laboratory fees etc.) and the hostel is for 130000 for single seater. But now the fees is increasing with the time, Apart from this you have to pay 10000 for the security fees and 10000 for the uniform fees. No specific scholarships or financial aid is available there

Campus Life

4

Various clubs and societies deal with all the annual and technical festival-related things. Some of the well-known fests were Zion, which is the annual fest of the college, Expressions, Kai-po-che, and Deep Sandhya are some fests that are celebrated in the college. The library is well-equipped with all types of books, research papers, and journals. The sports facilities are also very good as the campus has basketball courts, cricket field, football field, kabbadi court, badminton courts, etc. Some of the social groups are Dance groups like Zenith, EDC and others as well, like Eco-club, Oorjaa commitee, etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are good. Like you can choose a single or double seater on the basis of your budget, there are AC rooms as well. The hostel mess is super good. The food is super good and of good quality. The Registration process is simple. You have to fill the form and deposit the fees.

Admission

Yes, I have applied for other colleges as well, like JAYPEE Noida, but the main thing is that they are not offering the Computer Science branch there, and it was also quite far from my home. I chose COER as it was an old college like founded in 1996, so it has a legacy, and the faculty are also very experienced, most of whom are doing PhDs from IIT Roorkee itself. The admission process is very simple. You just have to fill out the admission form and submit all your documents to verify your eligibility criteria.

Faculty

4

The Faculty is also nice. They are all post-graduated and some are also doing their PHD. Mr. Kamal Kapoor is really a good teacher and a mentor. They always mentor their students in the right way. No major, you just have to clear the mid- sems and end sems.

Night Life

4

Yes, Campus has a gym, cafeterias, and also small stalls that offer variety of food. The closing time of the campus gate is 8 pm. After that you have to provide a valid reason to do so. The hostel-gate closing is 10 pm, but yeah, you can go to collect your Zomato, Swiggy etc.

Other Applied Colleges

Jaypee Institute of Information Technology University - [JIIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

I did not opt for that college because they were offering me the Civil branch, which did not align with my interest in IT and it was also quite far from my hometown.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is highly relevant, focusing on practical knowledge for real-world prep, though more hands-on application and updated content would strengthen it. Exams occur 6 times yearly; they are tough but fair for the course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of its affordability and the teaching quality of this college is good . They helps in choosing the real life application based projects . Teaching methods are impressive but they don't provide notes . We have make notes by attending class regularly. Frequency and timings of exams are of 3 hrs. For each subject . Difficulty level is moderate and students can prepare it well in the gap days also .

I always loved coding and learning about new technologies. Also, jobs in CS/IT department are paid high. The faculty and student ratio is on the medium side. Faculties are highly qualified from IIT and top private colleges. They are very helpful and have a great pedagogy.
