Course Curriculum Overview

4

The structure of the course curriculum was one of the main reasons I chose this course, one of the aspect I particularly liked is that macro and microeconomics are taught simultaneously rather than in separate semesters. As is the case in many other universities. This approach helps build a stronger conceptual foundation and put students at an academic advantage. Another important feature that I liked of this curriculum is the inclusion of data science oriented courses which prepares students for real-world applications as well as other academic pursuits, learning tools such as python, Excel and SQL add significant practical value and enhances employability in terms of areas for improvement. I feel that the curriculum could focus more on practical exposure rather than heavily of the sizing written assignments. Since we are economic students, hands on learning, data analysis, and real-world applications could further strengthen our understanding. The frequency and timing of examinations are well planned and manageable. The difficulty level is reasonable and as long as the syllabus is completed on the time on time, the exam schedule does not pose any issues.

Internships Opportunities

1

The Internship and Placement Fair is organised by the college's Placement cell,The companies that participate are mainly startups and the roles offered are usually Human resources and Finance.Students usually look for internships off campus as they provied better opportunities and are more reputed.

Placement Experience

2

placement and internship fares are regularly conducted on campus where various companies which are mostly start-ups visit to recruit students for internships and entry level roles. Students become eligible for internships from the first year itself. placement opportunities are generally available after the completion of the full degree and only final year. Students are eligible to apply for full-time rules. last during our last internship and placement fair over 20 companies visited and recruited almost 150 candidates. There are no separate records distinguishing internship from placement. The highest package reported for economics honours is around 12 lakhs per annum and the average package is approximately five lakhs per annum. As per my future plans,I intend to pursue a masters degree after completing my undergraduate course.

Fees and Financial Aid

During my first year, the total fees I paid for approximately ?1,10,200. The fees increases slightly every year. In second year, the total fees amount was around 1,16,200. The overall fee structure includes tuition fees, registration fees, development fees, etc. The college does not offer any official scholarships but the students can avail themselves of various government scholarships, including merit need based schemes, which have their own eligibility criteria.

Campus Life

4

being part of the east campus, students are still included in the major inter campus events and fest organised at the main campus. Two of the most prominent annual events are the Engifest and the Tech fest which are held every year usually between February and March. these fests provide opportunities to students to participate in competitions and cultural events. In terms of academic resources. The college library is well equipped with all the prescribed course books required for the curriculum. Student life is further enriched by a wide range of student run, societies and clubs. All societies are managed by students and play an active role in campus life. There are professional and academic societies such as the economic society, debating society, networking society and placement cell. Alongside these there are several cultural societies, including Music dance and fashion that encourage creativity and artistic expression.

Admission

One mistake that i made during admissions was filling my DU CSAS portal's preference list wrong due to which i was unable to secure admission to some of the better colleges. When I compares my current college to the colleges I was alloted through DU,I realized my current college offered more advantages. The admission process is quite simple. For economics hons, eligibility requires having mathematics in class 12 and appearing for maths in CUET.Admissions are based on CUET scores, followed by counselling with multiple rounds.Cut offs are not very high.

Faculty

3

The faculty members are easily approachable and there is a healthy faculty to student ratio across all the sections.Students receive adequate academic support as well.So there are sufficient faculty members available for all the subjects and most of them are experienced supportive. The core structure is planned in such a way that each semester includes mid semester examinations of 25 marks, which is for all subjects along with assignments and practical components for selected courses. The end term examination are conducted for 50 marks, in addition to written exam, separate assignments and internal assessments are also included in the evaluation process. If students attend classes regularly, listen to the teachers and go through the provided study materials. The examinations are fairly easy and can be cleared without much difficulty. The curriculum is well structured and relevant, making it easier for students to understand concepts. Cases of failure are very rare and if any students do fail, it is usually limited to only 3 to 5 students in a class.

Night Life

1

there is no nightlife on campus as all classes usually usually get over before 5 PM since there are no hostel facilities available for the East campus. More students commute from home and leave the campus soon after classes end in terms terms of nearby public areas. There are a few malls such as the cross river,V3S and Keventers market.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
