Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum is well designed and easy to understand. It covers all the specific areas and prepares students for the real world applications of the taught course. It helps students build a level of confidence and also equips them with practical knowledge by getting them on-deck for many many programs and projects.

Internships Opportunities

3

I have not activated applied for any such internships as I do not look forward to that path but as much as I have heard and seen, there are multiple students who apply for internships (paid or unpaid). The college also offers you the opportunity to work for the community.

Placement Experience

4

I feel every student needs to work hard on themselves first and equip themselves with skills which could land them a good placement. There are companies which are partnering with the college and admit interns and applicants by the end of the year. I personally have not applied for the internships or the placements but I intend to in the future.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is to be paid on a yearly basis, the annual fee is approximately 1,10,000. 1 Academic Year has 2 semesters and the fee is to be paid before the next year begins which means after the 1st year is completed, you are required to pay the fee for the next year. There are multiple scholarship and financial aids offered by the college such as for EWS, Army Quota and much more. The fee does not generally increase and even if so, it only increases by under 10k.

Campus Life

4

The infrastructure is hands down top notch. The benches are comfortable, the classrooms are equipped with air conditioners and almost every classroom has windows which provides good ventilation. Every classroom also has a smart monitor and a podium with mic for the teacher to stand. The societies in this college are also hardworking and occupied by great and hardworking minds. There are multiple categories targeted society such as the Economics society, the music society, the dance society, the training and placement cell, the sports society, SPICMACAY, Rotaract Club, NSS club, the fashion society and much more. There is no 'campus life' as such because the campus is not widely spread across and is limited.

Admission

I was indecisive about this college and I was also aiming for a North Campus DU college but when I got myself admitted here and spent a semester, I got to know the Pros of studying here. The first and the foremost thing, its a government college with a good reputation. Secondly, the crowd here is actually very friendly and nice to be around. And lastly, the faculty and the infrastructure which almost half of the DU colleges fail to provide. The college has their own exams and also allows admission through CUET scores.

Faculty

5

The faculty to student ratio is 1:50 which means that for 1 subject, a teacher teaches a class of almost 40-50 students excluding the extra 'tute' classes. The faculties are really approachable and genuinely know their subjects like the back of their hand. I have no 'disliked' faculties as such because everyone is great at what they teach and they try to make themselves clear and also provide students with reality checks once in a while which helps the student realise their potential to work hard on themselves and motivate everyone to build a competitive environment. There are 2 exams per semester namely the, Mid term examination (MTE) and the End term examination (ETE). The mid term examination focuses on partial covering of the syllabus and tests you on your understanding of the base level concepts and the End Sem or the End term focuses on your understanding of the core concepts which will prove to build a base for the concepts to be taught in the later semesters.

Night Life

3

There are no hostels in the USME block of this University and I being a student of USME block am deprived of a hostem facility. The locality is mediocre and can improve a lot and it even needs to. There are cafes and restaurants for students to go out to once in a while. The library has good working hours. The locality being mediocre deprives the student living near the college to go out at night.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
