Remarks
one last thing is we had a strike in nit uttrakhand as a girl met with accident and also their poor facilities there after a long 2 month strike our college haas been shifted to mnit jaipur campus so everything is going good for now apart from some disturbances in extra curricular activities
Course Curriculum Overview
Despite being in a so called remote place, it has its own scenic beauty. It has numerous places nearby that would fascinate the wanderlusts. Students have the liberty to choose their own subjects from 5th sem onwards, thus opting for subjects of their liking. Extra-curriculars- NIT Uttarakhand provides more than enough chances to enjoy extra curriculars be it sports, singing, dancing etc. exam structure of nit uttarakhand is as common as every other college like it consists of two sessional exams (mid terms) and one end semester examnination and consists of series of class tests in the middle with included assignments etc
Placement Experience
Although I am a student of NIT UTTARAKHAND but I won't be biased. If you are choosing CSE then you can expect placements (remember the fact that CSEian in private colleges get placements higher than NIT UTTRAKHAND). And if you are taking branch other than CSE then please keep precautions because placements here are worst for branches other than CSE. People here prepare for exams like Gate , CAT, GMAT but another worst thing is that here there is no coaching so if you want to come to this college for preparing these exams then please. Please don't come. Choose a good college in good location where you can find coachings and can think about others options also. For placements first of all work on your communication skills and work on your english altogether with technical, you will get placement in any college. So thing is that if you are going to get placement in any college then why to ruin your 4 precious years in this college for the sake of NIT tag. Just get one college at good location and with beautiful campus and enjoy your 4 years and get a job or otherwise prepare for other exams (for this you can enroll in coachings nearby) I want to inform you all that NIT UTTRAKHAND comes at the top (from last) in MHRD NIT's ranking. and after hearing all this one wont be expecting it to be providing internships.so nituk is not at all providing any kind of internships.
College Events
NIT Uttarakhand offers ample opportunities to its students to engage in both co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Right from organizing visits to Power Stations, Automobile Manufacturing Industries, etc. to supplement theoretical knowledge with practical insight, to promoting students to visit various IITs for participating in competitions and Technical and Cultural Fests to organizing its own grand Annual Fest, NIT Uttarakhand has developed a very vibrant campus life. Various Student Clubs wholly managed by students under the guidance of faculty members, ensure that the whole Academic Year remains abuzz with different activities, events, workshops, celebrations, etc. Each club is governed by an Executive Body which has a Club Secretary, a Joint Secretary (two in case of the Literary Society), a Treasurer and two Executive Body Members (three in case of the Literary Society).

Campus Life
Some of the popular clubs of the Institute include Klick- the Photography Club, Movie Club, Verbatim - the Speakers' Club, Literary Society - the nodal club for all literary activity, Robotics Club, Rocktave- the Music Club, Dance Club, the SAE BAJA club, the Programmers' Club, etc. The Institute publishes its monthly newsletter 'Technosavvy' and nurtures writing skills and creativity of students through its wall magazine 'Think Tank.' The Institute also employs qualified coaches and trainers for training students in various outdoor and indoor games like Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Table tennis, Chess, etc the are very good as they provide a way to an individual to express their talent
Hostel Facilities
I am feeling really sad to say that hostels at NIT Uttarakhand are not up to the mark as they should be. There are seven hostels out of which six are for boys and one for girls. Talking about the rooms… there are four to six members in a room (for both boys and girls). Now you can imagine the condition… as there are nearly 900 students in the college and most of them stay in hostels and only a few stay in PG. But the good thing is we get 24x7 (except sleeping hours) wifi in hostels (main reason for living in hostels), cleanliness level in good and if you are a boy then no restriction on timings (roam in college at any time). In a room of six members you get: 3 beds (dual beds with stairs) 3 tables 3 chairs 2 almirah 1 iron rack 3 wall fans or one ceiling fan The color of the walls is yellow. Some of the hostels have concrete ceilings while some have tin shed ceiling (because of temporary campus). The summers are really very hot in Srinagar (UK), so it becomes really difficult sometimes to live in boiling room (if your room doesn’t have concrete ceiling). i will rate it as 4 out of 10
Alumni/Alumna
actually this nit uttarakhand has no proper alumini network as this college is so remotely located and it is just an emerging college since it is formed in 2010 only there is no alumini for this college
Admission
i have got admission into this NIT through the all india entrance examination JEE(joint entrance examinatin) discription of jee it consists of two papers paper 1 and 2 which have a time of 3 hrs each this paper 1 is to get into admission into NITs and GFTIs. when we get the qualifying marks in JEE exam we will be aligible to apply for colleges. after counselling process a college will be allocated to us based on the ranks
Faculty
No professors only Assistant professors, Trainee teachers with very rare experience in teaching are here. Don’t expect anyone to help you well enough. Prepare to be self dependent if you intend to join any college in India. Nowhere you are going to find perfect ass teachers. Though some are fine enough, still one cannot rely on them. This is especially true of NIT UK. People tend to overestimate the role of curriculum and teachers and tend to underestimate the role of student’s own efforts. And well, I resisted to insult much of my department in this answer because i have passed only one year here, took only one Computer Science course (Though i found that course’s faculty to be good for nothing as i had to study much on my own), so my points cannot be more authentic than any senior in this matter.
