• The recruitment process is a little bit different here compared to India, and I think it's very important for a student to understand these differences and be prepared for them when they are trying to pursue a career abroad. In India, if you get one of the top institutions, it's almost guaranteed you will get a job through campus placement. There are no campus placements in the UK.
• The UK have graduate schemes instead. Graduate schemes are roles which you apply for during your semester 1 to be hired after you graduate. This is a long process with multiple rounds of tests and interviews. Most of the top companies and fast-growing small businesses give amazing graduate scheme opportunities. Once you are hired, you work with them for two years across different departments before you can find a role best suited for you. It's a great opportunity for those who are seeking entry-level roles or students with little or no work experience.
• The next one is the graduate labour market. I mostly use LinkedIn to follow the companies I am looking to apply for and go through their job openings regularly. You can also use the company sites or other platforms like Indeed and totaljobs. Newcastle University also has many jobs advertised on its career service page as well. The average salary range depends on what the role is and where you will be working in terms of the cities in the UK. For example, I am an HR graduate with a few years of experience, my average salary in Newcastle would be £27000, whereas in London it would be £32,000. On the other hand, a fresher business analyst with minimal experience would get paid an average of £ 34,000 in Newcastle or even £38,000 in London. Everyone from my cohort and my friends from other programmes who stayed back in Newcastle got employed full-time within the first 5 months after graduation. I also had a friend who received two offer letters from two great companies as well.
• Some of the Key points-
  • Soft skills are much more important than you think. Even if you have all the technical skills needed, recruiters are keen on knowing how you conduct yourself, your self-awareness and if you would be a good fit into their company culture and team.
  • The way you present yourself is very important. Please don't dress up like a student in casuals in spaces where you will be meeting your employees. Dress sharp and stand out, be ready to build professional connections and relationships in these places. It might sound cliché, but it actually works. People really take note of these things, and it adds to what kind of first impression you want to give.
  • Networking is very important here, and I cannot stress this enough. To be a good networker, you need to build those soft skills and really understand what networking is all about. I have attended some great sessions with the career service team to be a confident netoworker as initially I was quite shy and awkward around networking.
  • Some students who are struggling do have full-time jobs, but they might not be happy with them and tend to be searching for better roles. As far as I know, no one has been fully unemployed here.

• Off-campus accommodation. I could walk and reach the main campus in 5 mins and the business school in 20 mins. £392 monthly, including electric, water, heater, and wifi bills. Most indian students stay in Newcastle University campus. However, many don't apply on time or think the cheapest option is not good enough and go for accommodation with slightly higher rates.
• The only challenge is that there is a particular time window during which they release to make an application to get the accommodation. So you need to be alert and get your application within the time slot they offer. Apart from that, the rest of the process is quite easy and straightforward.
• There is no extra deposit, and you only need to pay at the end of every month. I will always recommend Newcastle Uni accommodation over any other accommodation tbh.

• Universities abroad dont really have campus recruitments. They have career teams who help connect students with recruiters however, they dont do the application work. You have to apply, make it to events, attend seminars.

• I found the accommodation (Verde) online. My weekly rent was 140/- (inclusive of bills).

• The placement cell helps you prepare and provide tools that help in reaching out to companies.
• They encourage the students and help in upskilling as well.

• I chose university accomodation which was very secure and well maintained.
• For the whole year i paid about 6500 pounds.

• Many students secure full time jobs within 6 months after completing the course, especially in cybersecurity roles like SOC Analyst, Security Consultant or Risk Analyst. The average starting salary ranges from 25000 to 35000 GBP/year with some roles going higher depending on experience.
• Jobs are usually found through LinkedIn, job portals , career fairs and the university's career services. Networking , internships and certifications can also help boost chances.

• Many students secure full time jobs within 6 months after completing the course, especially in cybersecurity roles like SOC Analyst, Security Consultant or Risk Analyst. The average starting salary ranges from 25000 to 35000 GBP/year with some roles going higher depending on experience.
• Jobs are usually found through LinkedIn, job portals , career fairs and the university's career services. Networking , internships and certifications can also help boost chances.

• 20% of the people were able to find the part-time job.
• 25000 to 30000 pounds is the average salary range for entry-level graduate jobs.
• There is no campus recruitment. We have to search by ourselves and apply. Mostly we utilise LinkedIn, My Career website of my college and Targetjobs website.
• We haven't been placed in any of the firms yet, so it is difficult to share this early.
• KPMG, Deloitte, EY, and JP Morgan are the major companies for recruiting.
   

• My accommodation is good. We got it through Wright Residential.
• It is fully furnished and the monthly rent was 500 pounds, including bills.
• Getting cheap accommodation in our budget, including bills, is a big task. Mostly ensuite will be costly for a very small room itself. Sharing accommodation was a bit affordable here.
• Try to get added in the local area WhatsApp group; mostly people will post about the rent ads in the group with pictures; we can contact them and get it sorted. College accommodation is best if they dont know any of them here for the initial few months.
• My accommodation is 4 miles away; I used to go by bus, which hardly takes 15 to 20 minutes.
• Most of the Indian community people stay in a place called Fenham.
   

• The average salary before tax is 22000 for a business management student. It hard for international students to get a graduate job but it is not impossible. 
• You can do a placement year after the second year of university which is a full time role and is paid. 
• The university educates and guides on this matter of securing a placement. However, it is a hassle for international students because it is not guaranteed and all depends on the amount of hard work put in by yourself. 
• Johnson&Johnson and BMW have hired alot of students from our university.

• University helped me with the accommodation in first year. However I found out that if you book the same accommodations privately it is a lot cheaper. I always looked at unihomes.co.uk. My current monthly rent is 620 however it was 700 in the first year. 

• I didn't find it challenging to find accommodation as a fresher because the university help was sufficient. My accommodation is a 10 min walk from the university 

• As I mentioned, like Indian universities there is no direct placement and you have to search and apply on your own.
• Newcastle University has a career team and career portal which will help you in the application process and process of applying.
• There are several job fairs organised by universities from time to time where different companies participate. Major companies are Deloitte and Accenture.

• I opted for Private Student Accommodation. I found my accommodation through Amber student accommodation portal for international students. 
• I am paying £640 a month for a basic studio in my accommodation. 
• I didn't face any challenge securing my accommodation. It's an easy process and there are several websites through which you can book your accommodation and apart from private accommodation you can also go for university accommodation. My accommodation is just 2km away from my campus.

• Full time job opportunities are available, and it depends on the job market and the skills you have and the experience and knowledge you have gathered throughout.
• I don’t know about the percentage of students who secured employment withing 6 months.
• The average salary eanges from 23k to 29k GBP per annum.
• They have to constantly apply on job portals and make sure to tailor their resume and cover letter acording to the job roles.
• My friends have been placed in data tech and hardware companies. NHS, and EY are some of the major recruiters.

• I opted for off campus accommodation.
• I found my student accommodation with the help of google, and fresh student living property management.
• I had a studio apartment with personal kitchen and bathroom, and my monthly rent was approximately 650 pounds. We had a social space with books, games, pool table and other fun activities that was helpful for relaxation, and making connections and socialising, and a gym and backyard and 24*7 security.
• The search for accommodation was fairly smooth and they gave a virtual and video call tour before my confirmation, so I was satisfied.
• Based on my experience, recommendations that I would give for future students seeking accommodation - will be get in touch with the property managements for students and make sure to get a virtual video call tour (with all the questions whether it is silly or something important).
• My accommodation was 18 mins away (walking distance) from my uni, and most Indian students usually stay near Fenham (because of larger Asian community and Indian food store and eateries)

Median salary for my course ranges from £20,000-£30,000 per year. Newcastle has good placement numbers, however as international students you will need to apply to hundreds of companies before securing a placement.

I would say my experience has been very positive. As an international student you gain invaluable experience and learn different things.

There is no post- study Placement / Research opportunities of my program for students. But there were lot of companies that visited the university.

It was great experience as I made a lot of great friends in my time here.
