Scholarship

  • There were two scholarship options I had at the time of application, the first was a scholarship of 2,500 pounds for every student, and the second was 5,000 pounds for only specific students whose profile is good. I got that scholarship because my profile was good as per their admission requirements.
  • That 5,000 scholarship is for 2000 students only, as per my knowledge.

  • I found accommodation online through google search, and the monthly rent is approx 370 pounds. I didn't face any issues while securing the accommodation; it was really easy to book that and get the agreement.
  • I have one Recommendation for future students: if you are coming to the University of Sheffield, then try to book near that University; otherwise, you have to walk too much. Also, try to book IQ Fenton, Westhill Hall, or aspect3, Central Place, etc. These accommodations are really close to the university, and you have to walk only 5 to 10 minutes.
  • My accommodation is just 5 minutes' walk from the university. Most Indian students stay in IQ Fenton, Westhill Hall, or Aspect3, Student Roost, the central place.

Scholarship

  • I don’t know about any general scholarships, but for our course, I used a £2000 scholarship just for simply accepting the offer letter earlier than the stated date. I think that was just to encourage us to pick out this college, and a lot of my friends got into this one. Also, if you do really well in your exams, your tuition fees for the next year will be reduced by half. ( Undergraduate course)

  • I used to live in a private university accommodation. It used to be a little better than uni ones and still had the whole community feel.
  • My monthly rent was around £700, which included all the facilities in the accommodation and AC, a Smart TV in my room.
  • There were no challenges. I looked up on the internet, and this accommodation was very well ranked.
  • Prestige Student Living Steel City, Hollis Croft, Cosmos. These were the best accommodations there. My accommodation was a 5-7-minute walk from the campus.
  • A lot of indians used to stay in Sheffield-3, Fenton House, because of the affordable pricing.

Scholarship

  • Yes, I got a £2000 scholarship. It was based on my application, my results & experience.
  • There is a UK merit scholarship from the University for very meritorious students, in addition to different scholarships which are funded by individuals or organisations. You can get a 25-50% scholarship. The criteria vary from one scholarship to another. Generally, they require a strong academic background. A good volunteering or sports background would be helpful.
  • Some of my batchmates got a scholarship. However, getting a UK merit scholarship is very competitive.

  • I stayed in university accommodation. I applied through the university website. They are most trustworthy; that's why I chose them. I
  • I paid £6,800 for the year. I shared a flat with 6 other students. We had our own rooms & shared a kitchen & bathroom.
  • It's easy to get university accommodation.
  • Staying in university accommodation was the best decision. I wanted to have a global experience & that's what I got. In my flat, there were 2 Indians, including me, 2 British, 1 German, and 1 Dutch. We were 4 boys & 3 girls. We got along very well & I had no issues.
  • Private accommodations are cheaper, and Indian students prefer to stay within Indian groups. My advice would be to go and mix with people from other countries. What is the point of going abroad to study if you don't mix with other people?
  • That's why I would recommend staying at university accommodation.
  • My accommodation was just a 2-minute walk from the Diamond, where we had most of our classes. I made many friends in Mappin Court, including Indians. I had an amazing time there. My fellow Indian friends were very happy too.
