It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Factual and practical review

Likes

Wonderful and Beautiful Campus and infrastructure.
The hostel mess food quality is nice and healthy.
There is no time limit for boys to come/go from hostel

Dislikes

In my department at that time there were shortage of professor, so we got very less elective core courses.
Strictness about the class attendance. There is around 85% attendance compulsory.
Hostel room size. In single they were assigning two students.

Placement Experience:

After 3rd year means from starting if the 4th year students are eligible for campus placements. Hiveminds, parikshit etc company came to campus but no was selected. Highest package was 96LPA and average of 8-10Lpa. 80-90% students are getting placement in every year. Doing any job to support family.

We have organised placement cell in our college. They shall assist us in all possible ways. Lots of email and messages shall be pinged to students to be prepared for upcoming campus placements of various companies.

NIT rkl one of the best NIT in the country

Likes

College provides internship opportunities which enhances skill of students. Campus placement is also very good.
One of the most beautiful campus across country.
Many workshops and seminar organised for skill development.

Dislikes

Biometric attendance is compulsory for Mtech students
City is quite far from the college campus.
Only cycle is allowed in campus. So you can't use bike.

Placement Experience:

Placement is very good. Almost 80? students gets placed every year. Average package is aroung 8 LPA. Highest package is around 15 LPA. If someone don't get placed they can opt for PhD from some reputed IIT

Is nitrkl worth it?

Likes

Good green nature and environment. Last green campus.
Placements are good for most of the branches especially circuital branches ( cse, ece, ei, ee)

Dislikes

Once you get a backlog cause of any reason, its quite difficult and costly process to get passed again. It involves a lot of strict rules and regulations.
No much visiting places. No fast transport for south indians mainly. Tours and long trips are only for richees.

Percentage of placements ks quite high when compared to iits. But the average and median salaries are 24 and 23lakhs in cse last year and overall average could be around 12lakhs. Quite a good number of opportunities are available, but students with backlogs are not allowed to sit for placements. Internships need to be increased more. Highest packages range from 55lpa to 65 lpa every year

roller coster ride

Infrastructure. we got some very good architecture in our most of the buildings
club culture. we have more than 50 clubs to get into
Hostel. we have massive hostel and every hostel has its canteen with affordable prices

Dislikes

attendence. we have to maintain a 85% attendence which is high than most of the colleges
faculty. here most of the doesnot care what you learn or not they just want assignment
fest. we dont have that great fests according to our college level

Placement Experience:

mostly in the ending 6th semster companies visit out campus offering campus placements to the eligible students. in our college top companies like Google, microsoft, facebook come to recruit students and they give huge packages. in recent year google gave a offer of 84lacs which is highest placement in that year. here 95% students who apply gets placed in the commpanies. i am also thinking of getting placement after getting the degree

Honest review of NIT Rourkela

Likes

First thing that I liked there is the club culture which provides high level guidance and enhances the opportunities
The college has the top notch labs with world class facilities.

Dislikes

The climate of the region is very unpleasant.

Placement Experience:

The students in our campus get placements in their final year of the college. Yet they can get internships in their 2nd or 3rd year. Approximately 97% in enrolled students in our campus land up to secure placement by the end of 4 years.

Nit Rourkela: college review

Likes

The environment is great and you'll meet the top students of India with brilliant minds. You'll learn a lot throughout your journeyney
Faculty and professors are helpful and they try to resolve student's doubt.
Great infrastructure. You will not only get to see a big campus but overall the infrastructure is great.

Dislikes

Specially for girls ( if you get cvr hall of residence you will have to share a your room. The room are not spacious enough to occupy two people. Sadly, you have to manage with that
As in any other college, there will some days when you feel zonism is there. ( people will prioritize oria people)
Mess food is not that good. Hygiene issues will be there. I haven't faced it much as i am vegetarian and i joined the green mess of our college which serves tasty hygienic food.

Course Curriculum Overview:

You 'll get a whole range of courses. And there are some extra courses as well which is not provided by every college. Exams are conducted in a disciplined way. Punctuality and strictness is mainatined by both staffs and students. I think the staffs should be more strict to prevent students to cheat in the exams as there our students who are smart enough and they manage to cheat even in this strict environment.

Likes

Every 1st year students are provided with a mentor that helps them in every perspective of their college life.
The campus is vast full of greenery and lakes.
The faculties are also friendly in nature.

Dislikes

The mess food is quite disappointing but if you avail for garden green mess it's food is so good.
There is no western style toilets in any hostel except few.
The size of hostel room is also very small to fit to students.

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is very good. The college offers an average package of 12-13 LPA and a median package of 11 LPA. The highest package of my college is 84 LPA. The placement percentage is about 90% but this year due to the recession the percentage is quite low. The top tech companies visit my college like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Barclays.

Not the best but quite good college

Likes

It has a very big campus of around 1200 acres.
This nit college is zero ragging college.
This college has a lot of branches for engineering including Management

Dislikes

The weather is very extreme and changes rapidly
The ratio of girls to boys is very low .
This college is very in the matter of attendance

Placement Experience:

The college provides placement opportunities to their students in the final year. They also get internship opportunities at the end of second year in non core mainly. Many good companies like ibm , Microsoft, jindal steel come.

Mathematics at NIT-Rourkela

Likes

The campus is really vibrant with lot of activities to do as per one's choice and interest.
The course fee is relatively low as compared to others.
The placement opportunities can be good.

Dislikes

The course structure is not that great as it includes useless chemistry and physics courses till the end of 3rd year.
Professors can sometimes be a bit too pain in the ***.

Placement is decent for the course. One can get software, analytics or teaching job. The placement, sure has, taken a hit from the on going recession in the IT industry. For the 2022-23 placement session, the average salary offered was around 10lpa with the placement percentage being 92%.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
