It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Vibrant culture of campus gives platform for overall development and personality building. placements are also impressive in past few years.
campus size is large and almost all facility like atm dispensary etc are available within the campus.
olympic size swimming pool is available in campus.

Dislikes

attendance criteria is horrible and one of the major drawback of Nit rourkela. There is attendance criteria of 85% in a semester which is compulsory for any student.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good specially talking about circuital and cse branches it is better. a good no. of companies visit the campus for placement avg ctc is around 13 lpa. companies like microsoft amazon flipkart texas instruments qualcum visit the campus

Overall I love my college. Many faculties are good they support students and gave better knowledge to their students.
I love it's campus life as well as infrastructure and course.

Placement Experience:

It's placement is good i.e average package is about ?12 lack per annum. From 7 th semester students become eligible for campus placement. There are to many companies visited to my college as example Vedanta, Dalmia, HPCL,BPCL, Deloitte and many more for core branches and for tech Microsoft, Google etc. Mostly 85-95 percentage students placed in my college. In core branches you expect highest package is about ?25 lack per annum and the average package is about ?12 lack And for tech it's highest package is about ?50-60 lack per annum My plans after getting the degree is to crack upsc .

An Enriching Journey:My Experince at NIT Rourkela

My experince at NIT rourkela has enriching.
The infrastucture has morden and well maintenid ,providing a conductive learning enviroment.
I appreciated the comprehensive curriculum, supportive faculty.

Dislikes

The workload could be overhelming at times, leading to stess and fatigue.
Tthere are occasional issues with faculities and amenities,such as maintenaces issue in hostal.
The Placement process could have been more organized and transparent.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I rate the Chemical enginereerng curriculum 10 /10 for its relevance and comprehensive, staying updated with latest development. The curriculum prepares us well for real-world application by case studies, research, events and live projects.

The placement of the NIT Rourkela is the record that maximum of the student that are appearing for campus interview are selected if unfortunately one of the few student are like remain left then there are use opportunity of putting forward in the life like he can take Mtech programs in NIT Rourkela or get give the GATE exam and crack PS use and even nitric provides applied from that will help you in the research field and you can be the best scientist of the India and contribute to the nation.

College and facts

Likes

Infrastructure and campus are very good.
Varities of culbs and always active. They organise events frequently for students.
There is a Central library which completely best for preparing competitive exams or full of engineering books .

Dislikes

There is Attendance criteria is very bad that is 85%.
Most of the professor are Odia , so they are more interactive with odia students . Zoneism is in air of campus.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students are eligible for placement and from 5th semester students can get pre placement offers . Total 330 company visited in 2023 and 1534 job offer. Highest package 83.60 (C.S) and Average package 15.74 . After getting degree , you may continue for further higher education or research.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course was easy for most of the cases or times, but felt some difficulties in some subjects like NANO, topics like surface plasmon resonance, etc. Timings are good and feasible, you'll get a lot of free time for whatever you want to do.

My Big Campus

Likes

Being the CR of my branch I do get many appreciations from my teachers and friends as I serve as a bridge between the students and the teachers.
My hostel friends serve as my mood balancer. They are always there in my good as well as difficult times.
The beauty of my campus that gets engulfed in its surroundings.

Dislikes

The mess food is just unbearable. Reading the menu one gets too many temptations to eat but once one starts eating then it tastes is just unberable.
Being a very big campus, its difficult to travel from one place to another easily
Sometimes club works becomes very hectic and therefore time management becomes a big deal

Placement Experience:

Serving as the reputed college of Engineering, National Institute Of Technology, Rourkela plays a very significant role in providing placements. Based on the skills that the student possess various companies come to hire them from all over the world offering them good packages.

Campus size and beauty everywhere present
Many food courts and all sports activities including gym and swimming pool

Many animals around us like snakes, and other in campus
Weather of rourkela which is very annoying
Travelling distance for students due to campus size

Campus life:- a lot of fest and fresh air and pollution free campus.
Club Culture :- A lot of clubs and socities.
Anti Ragging Committee and Institute Standing Disciplinary Committee

Language Barrier as most of the staff is fluent in regional language
There are most of the students from Odisha so they communicate in local languages
Attendance criteria is most disliked thing which is 85%

Placement Experience:

NITR has a decent placement performances.Most of the students get placed in on-campus placements while thoe looking for bigger opportunities can go for off-campus placemnts. placement totally depends on an individual's skill and mindset. Highest package is about 83 lpa while average is 15 lpa in nit rkl above 90 % students get placed through placement drive. After Graduuation i am looking for opportunities in government sector.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
