What is going to be a better option among the following B schools - VGSOM, new IIMs (Ranchi, Trichy, Raipur), or NMIMS?

When it comes to choosing a business school, the competition is fierce and the options can be overwhelming. Three institutes that are considered to be among the top in the country are the Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM) at IIT Kharagpur, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi, and the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS). If you are interested in an operations profile, then VGSOM is a great choice. It is considered to be one of the best institutes in the country for operations specialization, after NITIE. Additionally, the return on investment (ROI) is high. IIM Ranchi, on the other hand, may have a lower average package compared to the other two institutes, but it has the prestige of the IIM tag and a decent profile. The hostels are also fabulous, with single rooms available for students. NMIMS is considered to be more costly and the batch strength is over 500 students. The top 150-200 students get superb packages and roles that are at par with other top B-schools, however, the next lot of students may have a lot of start-ups, etc. If you want to play safe, VGSOM or IIM Ranchi might be the best option. However, if you are willing to take a risk, NMIMS might be a good choice as the profiles there are really good. It's ultimately up to you to decide which institute aligns best with your career goals and objectives. Rest assured, whichever institute you choose, you will be choosing a great institution as all three are among the top institutes in the country.

Are New IIMs (Trichy, Udaipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Raipur, Kashipur) good for MBA in Finance? If not suggest some B-schools. Really interested in investment banking.

Honestly speaking, a career in investment banking should not be considered by the new IIMs. It’s a too ambitious profile to match the relatively new curriculum of these IIMs. Even if you are in a top B School, you will have to remain among the top students to get placed for a front-end role. One can still get roles in corporate & business finance but getting roles in Investment Banking is rather difficult. Yet if you are not choosing an older IIM and want to choose a newer one, IIM Trichy is the best among them. The order is IIM Trichy > IIM Udaipur > IIM Ranchi There are many B Schools apart from IIMs that offer great Investment Banking roles. These include SPJIMR, JBIMS Mumbai, IIFT, and XLRI.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Fees for the entire course sums up to Rupees 14 lakhs approximately. It is not mandatory to pay the fees in a lump sum. Fees are paid before the beginning of each trimester and amount to Rupees 2.3 lakhs approximately for one trimester. Students belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PWD are given the opportunity to apply for scholarships, where the college administration helps them throughout the application process.

Total fees are 14,20,400 and are paid in 6 instalments(just before the start of each term). Scholarships are provided to economically challenged students. There is a Summer Internship Program after 1st year and final placements after the end of 2nd year.

IIM Raipur in a nutshell

The fee structure is close to 14.2 lacs. Given that classes are now being conducted online, the fees could have been stripped down more. The fee hike policy is generous and there are opportunities for financial assistance. I am currently placed in an MNC under a consulting role.

The best decision of my Life

The total fees are around 14,20,000/- which has to be paid in six equal instalments. Most people take loans to pay this fee. The banks provide exclusive scholar loans which are very convenient to pay back. Also, there are summer internship opportunities that provide very good stipend.

Summer-Internship Process

Fees here are much lower than many other top institutes which are around 14 lakhs. Fees are paid on a per term basis and a loan facility is easily available for students who opt for it. The course is full-time so one can't do a job along with the studies but can get enough experience through Short term projects and Summer internships.

IIM Raipur Review

The fees are fairly low compared to all the other top B-schools in India. The fees for the whole two-year course is 14.22 Lakhs excluding the mess fee. The fee hasn't been reduced even though the course has shifted to the online medium. Since the students haven't been on campus yet, other expenses are unknown. I am not aware of any scholarship or financial assistance that the institute offers to students. There are a lot of opportunities for students to pursue short term projects which offer a stipend and some without stipend.

There is idbi bank in the campus itself so u could avail your loan directly from there without any hassles. As u get a seat in IIM u don't have to show any assets for availing the loan. U can directly avail the loan
