I liked the campus beauty and the staff over here who are very supportive and the teachera who are ready for yoy every time you go to them and wven the hygine is maintained quite good here
Faculty members in this department are the best atleast i think so, they interact with students in a friendly manner this allows us to freely ask our doubts and gain knowledge.
Tution fee in each year is increased by 10 percent and there are number of scholarships and fee refunds for which a student can apply for after approval of his cirtificates and various other documents.

Dislikes

Hostels - their is not sufficient hostels available for students and hostel mess is very bad. their is no student union available so it is very difficult to make some change in college.
It is not so good as expected because of lack of facilities within the college.but according to social aspects and culture it is good and our nit is lacking infrastructure and this affects campus life too.
It is a very small campus compared to the other nits, the college grounds are very small, and there are no separate buildings for the courses.

OVERALL COLLAGE REVIEW

Likes

The placement ratio is quite good and getting better year by year.
Some faculties are really well and some of them are even hitting top 2% of worlds scientists.
There is no case of very indiscipline action like ragging .

Dislikes

The size of campus is quite less than what I was expecting from a college.
There is no proper availablity of hostels for students
Girls to boys ratio is very less which is 1:4 , which is showing still inequality on base of gender

Course Curriculum Overview:

Yeah ,the course in terms of comprehensiveness is really satisfactory. I have some issues with sequence of subjects which are covered ,but there is no compromise with the comprehensiveness. So I would rate good that too .

NIT Raipur Review: Where knowledge meets real world engineering.

I liked the curriculum of this college most because of their involvement of cutting edge tools and technologies related subjects and availability of good quality lab equipment's in labs and well qualified faculties. .
Apart from academics the placement cell of this college is too supportive and try to bring as much companies as possible including many public sectors companies and top of Multi national corporations.
This college hold a good position in sports domain as a lot of students are doing great in the field of sports and getting top positions in Inter NITs sports like cricket, kabaddi, and football etc..

Dislikes

The infrastructure of this college is a bit old and campus is even too small as compared to the campus of other NITs. Its campus only covers an area of around 125 acres that's quite low as comparing the average of all NITs average.
This college is also lagging a bit in the sectors associated with research and development. Since this college has a lot of professors in top 2% scientists still fails to publish research papers.
This college also disappoints me when it comes to provide supports to technical clubs like Motorsports, Aviation, Technocracy and robotics. So its difficult for students ti produce good results as compared to other colleges.

Placement Experience:

1. Students from seventt semester and onwards are eligible for the campus placements. 2. There are ample numbers of comapnies visited in our college like schneider electric, bpcl,bhel,bhel,reliance,catterpillar,eil, and so on. As per the last year data around 130 comapnies made in to our campus and they offered around 800 plus offers to various studenst of different departments. 3. The highets package offered this year is 60 lakhs that is offered by DE Shaw and average package is something around 11 laks per annum 4. Taking considerations of students of all departments, almost 70 percent students get placed. 5. Presently my plan after getting degree is to get into a job.

4 Years of Adventure!

Hostel Rooms I like very much. It is spacious. Each room is having 3 bed 3 almirah and 3 table chair pairs. Electricity is good ..
Main campus is not that much far away from hostel.
As nit Raipur is located at good location so environment is also good through out the year

Dislikes

Water facility at hostel is not good . TDS is very high .
Uncleanliness at hostel corridors. No strict rules for mess workers
Somewhat I don't like the syllabus of the course. I am in IT branch still I have to study one subject of ECE branch

Placement Experience:

Placement status is good . 18 lpa is the average package 50 lpa is the highest package. Companies visited here are -- Black rock De shaw Cisco Triology Fanatics Zscaler Zshealtcare If you are not placed then uyou can prepare for -- Cat exam Gate exam You can do your own startup if you are having that much followers.

Truth about NIT Raipur

We have good campus area in which we can interact with each other do attend classes , play each every sports , all over campus is good
Teachers are great qualified and also the we have variety of lab equipments to do different studies .
Having the big compute lab and good seniors which helps us do crack good placements, here placement scenario is too good 86 % placement from chemical engineering it's massive

Dislikes

There are limited hostels and they are provided based on categories, cpi, and based on your home state , it's too difficult too get hostels here .
As I said good equipments but with there we required good lab assistants also which are helpful in nature and teach us positively
Our campus can be developed more by creating hostels for students as we are many space which abandon or empty there are big houses for faculties but if they decide they can make the hostels . But I don't know why management is not able to see problem

Placement scenario is so good as per the stats . Like students are eligible for placements from there 7th sem . No. Of companies visited is around 200 (guess). Offers made 600(guess) . Highest package is 65 lpa , and average package is 9 lpa there are major two roles one is core engineering get role and other is non core data analyst role . 86 % students are placed last year . My plan is to get good placements from college itself and then after experience I will go for MBA or higher studies .

Life of Master of Technology at NIT Raipur.

I would like to appreciate the faculty members at the college. The faculty members are highly educated and help the students to learn and improve skills.
Here the students are co-operative. If one in need, then the other person would help that person. The behavior is gentle.
The seniors are helpful. They themself ask to come to them and gather knowledge and learn problem solving skills from them.

Dislikes

The campus has limited hostels for boys and girls. So the students have to live outside the campus to live in the PG rooms or private hostels.
The building is quite old and has not been modified since long time. One main building is there where different blocks are interconnected.
The closing time of the hostel gate is early by 10 PM. So many students cannot walk in the night outside the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In my curriculum Information Technology, we have to study Cloud computing, Advanced Machine Learning, Advanced Data Structure and Analysis, Distributed System, Blockchain Technology, Computer Networking, Data Science, Bioinformatics and many more subjects are taught. I choose this course as because it is aligned with my interest and matches my Bachelor of Technology field. By learning Cloud Computing, Advanced Data Structure Analysis, Advanced Machine Learning, Blockchain Technolgy; we get ready for industry job. In this course we learn how to solve real-world problems and solutions to them. For improvement in the curriculum, I would suggest not to involve more theory rather than go for more practical learning. The exams happens after every 3 months in a year. Generally the end-semester happens at December and May. The exam is moderate level.

Likes

Infrastructure, Good placement, 8 big events a yr
Good faculty, good classroom, big library, clg is very disciplined
Ragging free campus, Senior very much cooperative

Dislikes

Less hostels. 1st yr seats-400(boys) 140(girls)
Campus is smaller than other tier2 nits, i expected a bigger campus

Course Curriculum Overview:

Currently in 1st yr so I have not explored much. But my inner feeling says I am in the right place and in the right branch. There are so many club and community which gives us a real world applications. Course curriculum and teaching method are good Classes are of 50min.It starts from 9 to 12:20 then from 2 to 5:20 . Morning timing is generally lab and evening theory classes

The Untold Story of NIT RR

The campus is very green and systematic making it a small but compact among other nits
the hostel food and affordability is very nice for everyone at nominal cost.
The central garden and various other spots are nice . the faculties have nice tieups with foreign faculties

Dislikes

Hostel in time should be exceeded so that we can roam more .

Placement Experience:

Students get ppos from the third year end itself that too very high packages . PhonePe , DE Shaw , Tata Steel .Deloitteb, Blackrock , Drl and many more comapnies offer ppos . generally all branches have good ppacements except biotech and biomed . mechanical and metallurgy students get generally more than 90 percent placements that too with a average package of 10 lakhs . Highest package ranges from 55-62 lakhs with IT branch average 18 lakhs . My plan is to pursue masters in aiml after btech.

NIT Raipur is a remarkable college!!

A whole new level of exposure was provided to us from NIT Raipur.
The outcome was amazing as Chattisgarh is a land of mining and therefore practicals were given on sites.
Hostels were so good that I hardly felt away from home.

Dislikes

Not all departments have their own building and in a single building many departments used to operate.

All the metals and mining companies be is JSW Steel, Tata Steel, or government companies like the Coal India and others were the ones that provides us placements. Our placements were amazing as we had the least students anf barring a few all are placed.

Good placement but infrastructure is disappointed

Good sports facility and supportive sports faculty
College is situated in the centre of city so easy transpiration,malls , market access and online delivery are so easy and also there is a chupathi in front of college

Dislikes

College infrastructure is so disappointing
Hostel are not for all students only toppers and reservation based students get hostel
Language barriers between the students as most of the students are from south india

Placement Experience:

There is good amount of exposure so we get placed easily off campus and also the alumnis are supportive and provide recommendation letter to companies Adobe ,google , microsoft, tcs , whirlpool, wipro, samsung , and many big companies visited our campus in my course 90 percent students get placed My plans to get a off campus placement

Life At Nit Raipur

Ccc lab is mainly used for students who are getting placed.
Many professors are phd scholar and our bee professor is passed out from nit Durgapur.They all are highly educated.
Nit Raipur conduct many fests like eclectica, aavartan . Eclectica is one of the biggest fest.

Dislikes

Hostel facilities are very poor as there is only one mahanadi hostel for first year girls .Because of some girls have to opt for pg or nearby hostel .
Wifi coverage in hostel is slow down and didn't even catch in first floor which is so bad thing about hostel.
Nit Raipur is completely surrounded with trees and because of it sometimes we see snakes and frogs in that area which is not safe.

Placement Experience:

Talking about the sem for which students are eligible to be placed are somewhere around 7th sem , mostly in the last year .. but one of the pros are .. placements here are not seasonly but evergreen throughout the total year .. For btech total offers made was around 850 , for mining top companies are bhel, sail , coal India . Last year highest was 62 lpa and avg was somewhere around 10.2 for mining , and 13 lpa overall. 70-80% gets placed overall .. My plan is to qualify gate ..

As an alumnus of NIT Raipur, here are my views on this institution-

Faculty- The faculty lags behind in terms of NIT standards. It is slightly above average. This is because their teaching method is not very engaging. That being said, the teachers are helpful. They will advise you to engage in extracurriculars as well.

Student Interaction- The senior-junior interaction is good.

Despite IIT Raipur and AIIMS Raipur being in close proximity, interaction and

idea-sharing with them is negligible.

Industry Connect- It has a good industry connection for some core branches like mining, metallurgy, and civil.

Campus Life- The campus life isn’t good. But eventually, you’ll learn to cope with things and enjoy yourself. You’ll learn a lot during your degree from this campus.

Infrastructure- There is a lot of room for improvement in the infrastructure of this college.

Placement- Placement records are decent. Last year an average package of INR 10.1 LPA was recorded by the college. A total of 738 offers were made by 101 companies. Some of the companies that visit the campus for placements include- Infoedge, Siemens, Adobe, Barclays, Capgemini, FIAT, Reliance, TATA, SapientNitro, Oracle, Amazon, Samsung, JP Morgan Chase, Cognizant and Wipro.

Overall, I would say that NIT Raipur is a bit lacking in many respects. However, you’ll get a good chance to rise over here because of low competition.
