Is an ECE at NIT Goa better than a CSE at Jamia Millia Islamia?

I have cousins from both NIT Goa, and Jamia Millia Islamia and as they mention, the latter is famous for its CSE course. Usually, students do not leave the opportunity to go for the CSE course of Jamia Millia Islamia. CSE is comparably better than most of the other branches in the educational domain. CSE provides you job opportunities in accordance to what you have been exposed to, academically. On the other hand, ECE is undeniably a good choice of stream. For securing a good job position, you will have to pursue majoring in one of many programming languages or web development projects. This translates to studying for your course and also pursuing something extra for exposure. While CSE students are already part of studying these domains in general. ECE students usually also go for the GATE exam. However, the only upside ECE students enjoy is finding the slightest amount of vacancies in PSU, while CS students are somewhat one step lower than it. JMI B.Tech ECE Admission 2026

Admissions to B.Tech ECE at JMI are based entirely on JEE Main 2026 scores. There is no separate entrance test conducted by JMI for B.Tech. Candidates must fill the JMI online application form at admission.jmi.ac.in and enter their JEE Main application number. Fees and Financial Aid:

This university is very good for those students who did not get admission to iit and top nits . This college better than tier 2 and tier 3 nits. The fees for core branches like CS, ECE, Electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and civil Engineering is 19250 for first year which include everything except hostel fee after that from second year is 16500 . Some new engineering course also launched like CSDS, Electronics and VLSI and Electrical with computer whose fee is approximately 150000 The strength in each branch is 80 . Jamia provide various types of scholarship such as merit cum mean scholarship and AAJMI Scholarship which is a interview based scholarship whose amount is approx 5000 to 6000 rupees. the fee is very minimal but 1 thing that i didn't like is it is very tough to get a hostel in 1st year but if you are from a place which is 1000 km away from the location of college hope so you will get the hostel. The location is best because it is very closer to noida its an urban area very beautiful campus and you will learn in very good environment its an central university whose ranking in word is 400-500

The yearly fees in the university in 2024 is 16150 but next three years fees is decreasing to 13825 but in different branched sone many less or more are there like 100-200. In the year 2025 the fees increasing to approximately 19000.

Year wise fee paid is ?16375 and it is same for all category students which includes all type of fee i.e. tution, caution, admission etc. Different scholarship are available but you need to apply for it and get into the interview

Jamia Millia Islamia - A College Which should be known for its better side

Very affordable hostel , canteen and the fees is also very low and great return on investment.

The college fees for first year is 16350 and for the next 3 years the fees is 13550. There is a provision for scholarship for economically weaker sections like Hamdard foundation of around 16k. The categories of reservation are muslim, muslim obc and women . Also the top 3 rankers in each course get a scholarship of 1000.

A general view of Engineering in Jamia Millia Islamia

The University is affordable and has decent labs for the price we pay, the professors are quite knowledgeable about their subjects and have enough experience to teach well.

16,150 is the yearly fees for the first year with the following divisions- Tution Fees- 2200 Exam fees- 1000 Caution fees- 200 Admission fees- 500 Library fees- 800 Games Fees- 600 Other charges- 10975 However from the second year onwards it gets to 13825 with the following divisions- Tution fees- 2200 Exam fees- 1000 Lab Caution Fees- 0 Admission Fees- 100 Library fees- 800 Games Fees- 600 Other Charges- 9125.

The annual fee is of ?16150 only for the first year and you can pay online and offline mode both and in second year it decreases to ?13000 only because it excludes the admission fee which you paid in first year and it also includes all the charges like caution fee library maintenance charges etc . Believe me you will not feel any difficulty in fee because it one of the cheapest college in India. But it is a government college so you will not get that much facilities like in class and other fields There is no scholarship given to the students as it is a national university but the students who top in Btech in their respective batches they get their some amount as reward.It is all about Btech (Electronics and communication Engineering) department.

The fee structure is pretty good in JMI. For example you have to pay 16350 per year , which is very less compared to other colleges , In my opinion there is no need of scholarships but still there are some available for students.
