IIT Dhanbad Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

From 7th or 8th semester student are eligible for campus placements (not sure but approx). Some of the companies that visit for recruitment are Google, Amazon, Bajaj, ONGC, Accenture Japan, etc. The highest and average oackage offered in my branch (mechanical engineering) are 51 LPA and 12 LPA respectively. Around 75 percent of stydents were placed in my branch (others opted for further higher studies, off campus placements, etc.) I have planned to get a job and continue studies parallely.

Many different companies visit IIT ISM Dhanbad for placements like Google, Amazon, etc. Average package for the college is Rs. 1700000 whereas average package for my course (Mathematics and Computing) is 2500000.

The placement tem is also very good i must say. You'll get ample of opportunities in Software wheareas opportunities is very less in Core. The highestpackage goes above 50lpa. The avg package in core companies is around 14lpa. Google, zepto, Salesforce, Microsoft, Accenture, Golmann Scahs are someof the companies for software and JsW, Bajaj, british Petroleum, JSP, hPCl, HLS asia are some of the companies which visits campus for placement drive.

The course curriculum is very much relevant to modern science and tech. the curriculum will change from department to department but courses such as cryptography, artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, image processing, nanoscience and nanoparticles are thought to students.

The placement of IIT dhanbad is very good and it offers a average package of 24lpa with highest package of 66lpa this year. Also every year more than 70% students get placed in our college. Specially the core companies shows a lot of interest in our college like coal india, sail, gail, petroleum industries companies, mining companies , etc Average package of cse here is 28lpa with 90% placement rate. Average of electrical is 23lpa with placement rate of 80%. Similarly, every branch average package lies between 18lpa to 24lpa.

There is no aspect of the curriculum that influenced, i have choose this course because of my JEE ADV rank. Our course is not that bad, they actually teach for our further academic pursuits. One thing that i wanted to improve that the syllabus that we are being taught is different from the experiments we do in the labs (specifiacally physics) if they are related then we could understand the concepts easily. The frequency and timings are reasonable on their difficulty level.

Placemnts for MBA are not good, last year it was better compared to this year, reason being market conditions, aslo there is lack of diversified roles this year,most roles are sales oriented in MBA. Many companies backed out from palcemnts - Morgan Stanley, Barclays, EY, PWC, Fedral Bank.... B.Tech companies are really good and all big brands visit campus, many studens are ppo'ed.

Placement are good of this college.previous many students placed by many companies. Google, Flipkart , TaTa steel and many more companies arrived in this college. Petroleum Engineering is good branch it's placements is good and average package is 25 lakh.

Placements and internships opportunities are plenty, both in core engineering and in other non engineering (finance, consulting, banking, etc). I choose to go for placement in core engineering and got placed during the placement season. My department saw around 70% placement with several top chemical companies visiting and offering students competitive salaries and benefits. Internship opportunities are open for third year students and job opportunity for final year students

There are a dedicated placement cell named as SCPT. This placement cell includes some professors and students to approach companies for visiting our campus for hiring. All big companies like google, Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman etc. visits campus every year for both internship and placements. Also core branches companies like texas , nividia etc visits college.
