IIT DHANBAD 99 YRS OF LEGACY

Likes

Infrastructure is great. With well organised mess food
Sone of the faculty are great , helps a lot
Healthy competitive environment , which helps to grow

Dislikes

Regionality problem if you belong to perticular region you will get help from senior else no
Sone of the faculty and TA are not good specially TA of psychology
Water problem , means water purifier is not good

Placement Experience:

Placement is good , like heighest package was 66 lakh for 2024 and avg is 20 lakh approx and placement percentage is approx 75-80 means this much percent students easily gets placed Specially petroleum engineering branch 95 percent students get placed

Looking for an amazing college life ? Come to ISM.

Likes

The well educated and industry sharpened and uptodate professors and faculty.
The overall technical labs and research facilities, which are even missing in many big IITs.
The eating areas, expecially the RamDhani Tea Shop is great hanging spot.

Dislikes

Today, many colleges have every classrooms, air conditioned. Although some of the class rooms are conditioned. but i feel the need for all of them to be ACed.
The lack of freedom for students to roam freely at night. Since its a closed campus, we should be allowed to roam in campus at night.
The branded eating outlets are few. I believe college should ask more brands to come and set up their franchises.

Placement Experience:

From sem 4, you can start applying. From sem 6, you can officially do an oncampus intern Google, Amazon, Flipakart, PhonePe, HDFC, Reliance, StanChat, BNY, GS, etc Highest 55LPA, avg, 20LPA. almost 80-90% get placed, others take on higher education

Likes

Great infrastructure and management of buildings.
Great culture of cultural clubs and non academic activities
Focus on academics and well equipped labs

Dislikes

A strict management with lack of empathy for students
A crowded campus due to large no. of courses offered
Lack of boys hostel facilities and travel

Placement Experience:

The placements are quite decent with avg package around 25 lpa. Students are eligible for internships from the 5th semester and for placements in the 7th semester. Companies like google ,microsoft , amazon, JLR, flipkart and samsung visit for internship and placement opportunities. The highest package ranges from 50-60 lpa while the avg. is around 20-25lpa. 85-90% of the students eligible get placed with the rest opting of higher studies. I plan on getting a job

Class timings are very flexible and no pressure on students.
IIT Dhanbad has very good record of internships and placements.
They provide scholarship for the students.

Dislikes

Should improve female to male ratio in students.

Placement Experience:

After 6th semester that is after 3-2 you are eligible to participate in campus placements. Campus placements are very good. Median package is 15 LPA and highest is around 75LPA. They will help you at the time of your placements.

Likes

The course structure for earth sciences branches set the industry benchmark
The sports facilities are well equipped and we have coaches to train u for inter IIT
And its an IIT so better than rest of the places. U get an essence of what it is the moment u enter the campus

Dislikes

There are only 20% girls overall, which makes the boy girl ratio high
The mess is good for nothing you have to spend a lot to sustain urself
The city outside has fancy restaurants and theatres but there is also vibes of a countryside place

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is comprehensive and balnces the theoretical and practical knowledge for the students. With numerous industrial tours and hand on real world projects the growth one can expect in his domain is impressive

All about iit ism dhanbad

Likes

The campus and its elegance is the best part i like about it
Its Greenery is must to see and its ground are best among all iits
I like the auditorium and gardens of the college .

Dislikes

I dont like as the campus is too small and dont have privacy
Some of the hostels are too old and dont have basic amenities
Area outside the campus is not soo good so dont like it

Placement are good as it is an iit , for my branch avergae package is 20.9 lakh so i like it as well as percentage of students placed is approximately 95 so that is also good so overall placement is good

placement and internship season is quite good .
quality of social interaction is also very good.
campus life is also good. infrastructure .

Dislikes

teaching is not so good as it you have study by your own
strictness is very high . if do any minor mistake you will get punished
attendance is very hard, strict 75 % rule is followed.

Placement Experience:

7th semester we are eligible for campus placements. in my branch cse 50 are ppo last year and 50+ placement and still current placement season is going on . company's like microsoft, google, walmart, phonpe, flipkart, atlassian, axxela, future first, de-shaw, sprinklr, goldman sach, amazon etc. highest package -67 lakh square point . average package 15 lakh in cse 80-85

THE LIFE AT IIT DHANBAD

As a jee aspirent i worked hard during my preparation so I expect a decent atmosphere at college without any pressure and depression going on in college. my college provides an atmosphere with very less amount depression and pressure on ones mind.
for an individual to grow in a society in the present situation they require an eco friendly atmosphere providing a freedom to learn of their choice and gaining complete knowledge in respective field. My college provides evrey thing that i mentioned.

Dislikes

i liked most part of my college the thing i disliked is about the fee.I have no reservation so as per college rulus i should pay full fee which is about 2,45,000 per year which seems to be very high.

Course Curriculum Overview:

firstly talking to the relavence the quality of education is so far better than a normal engineering college providind a good source of learning from librarys.the way they taught us is help ful while doing a real life experience.

Iit ism the hidden gem stone

Likes

Very friendly senior junior interaction.
Campus is very lush green and secluded from city.
Placements are decent and at par with other top iits

Dislikes

Girl boi ratio i.e some 1:4 creates monochromacity

Placement Experience:

The placements generally are very decent which may varry every year but on normal circumstances 80-85% students get placed with median and average around 15-20 lpa. Avg package of cse for eg lies around 25-30 lpa

Classes are taken very few hours,so it is good for me personally
Sports clubs, cultural clubs, technical clubs are more active

Dislikes

If there is a holiday in a week then Saturday is considered as a working day
Food is too worst as per my opinion.Majority food is favoured for north people

Yes,of course our course is a very good course. Maths is included very much in our course. Also computing courses included very much. Electronics especially digital electronics is also a part of our course
