IIT Ropar Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

CSE students will be well-placed at the college. The college boasts a 100% placement rate. The college committee is extremely dedicated and helpful, guiding us through the placement rounds and ensuring that we are placed according to our preferences. Our batch's maximum package offer was 28-30 LPA, while the average package was roughly 17 LPA. During the college placement drive, companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Zomato, Linux World Informatics, NASDAQ, Linkbal Japan, Tesco, and Yokogawa Electric Corporation Japan visited our campus.

I sat for the placements recently and this year they have been great. 84.96% of my batch got placed. Top recruiters of the week were Google, Amazon, Ericsson, Deloitte, Microsoft. Highest CTC went to Rs. 18 LPA. IT, Finance, Consulting, Core Engineering were the top sectors that offered placement opportunities for the students. I myself got more than 2 offers from some great companies with good CTC.

The college provides 95% placement for B.Tech why 95% because a few of my classmates decided to opt for higher studies. The college placement committee plays a crucial role in our placement. IIT Ropar has a consistent average of 90% of students placed throughout the decade. Some of the major recruiters visiting the campus were Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Paypal, Arista Networks, Texas Instruments, Larson and Toubro, Steelwedge, Mahindra and Mahindra, Tata Motors, Coal India, Click Labs, etc. Because of the placements and the quality of batch that IIT Ropar produces, it was even ranked as the 9th best engineering institute by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development. In major MNCs, candidates having a previous project or internship experience are preferred over fresher candidates. Hence, I would recommend taking up summer internships or building software as a project to level up the chances of interviews. Highest CTC offered was 12 lakh per annum while the average CTC stands at 12lakh per annum.

IIT Ropar is well connected with the major city like Chandigarh & Delhi. It has well-developed campus and facility. Within a short period, it has created Strong alumni like one of the CAT Rank 1 is from our College and many more. Coming to the median Package Prospective, it was 11.2 Lakh Package while I was joining, which is at par with old IITs and one of the highest package in new IITs. For various Information, I Preferred Quora/Youtube for the campus Review and NIRF Site for Various Stats. The bad aspect is that except electrical and CSE, other branches struggle for placement in non-core and SDE Roles as some companies don't allow to sit in the placement recuirement process, but it can be tackled with if you are firmly focussed on non-core and SDE. Coming to the Process of admission, I gave my Jee advanced exam on 27 Sept 2020. The result was out on OCT 5, after which the JOSAA counselling started on OCT 11(For which we have to enroll on the JOSAA site in my case, they took 35000 in which 33000 was refundable) in which we got different College in Rounds after the last round we are admitted in chosen College and the College will send you mail for further Process and documentation required. One small suggestion is that if anyone wants to apply for fee concession, they should Produce the income certificate in the time frame given by the organization. After the respective College does the document verification, you will attend the class and all. You don't have to worry about anything just be active on E-mail and website all the Information will be given before the time.
