Dislikes

Girls to boys ratio is very less especially in branches like civil and mechanical.However, it is improving right now due to 10% reservation for girls in IITs. ~ Akaash R, B.Tech

Remarks:

Brand value of IIT Madras Civil Engineering department in the academia and industry. the course work is very well designed considering the need of the industry and future prospects in this domain. The faculty are highly qualified and competent, the faculty strength is also appreciated. The facilities at IIT Madras are awesome with a green natural campus.

Remarks:

IIT Madras secured NIRF rank 1 for the last 5 years. IIT Madras also has a very good startup culture with incubators, E-Cell club and funding. Any old IIT has a very big alumni network which is very useful in the long run. Old IITs have well established clubs and fests which will help in developing our character and skills. I contacted some friends and family to get their inputs on what college to choose. I also went through their websites to know more about each college to decide more.

Heaven on Earth ( IIT Madras )

Remarks:

Placements and small batch size.Small batch means You get good opportunities in various MNC.For MTech students IIT Madras allows official Internship at companies in summer. So I did got a chance to do summer internship at Qualcomm, than after completing my 3 months Internship I got pre placement offer

IIT Madras MBA review

Remarks:

Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) offers MBA from Department of Management Studies. The college is famous in placement offers and infrastructure facilities. Also to study in a IIT institute is also a good value for MBA . The reviews from aluni and seniors was also very positive and thus I joined here.

Remarks:

Major reason is the brand name associated with the college. Also, the faculties under whom Iam working are veterans in the area of my choice. I study in Humanities and Social Sciences department and the department is old and well established with extinguished pool of faculties.

Remarks:

Culture of the college is good and the way I want to live in. Near to my hometown as well.I have approached my relatives who studied in IITs and they suggested to prefer college over branch. Everything is well planned in IIT Madras, didn't face any issues during admission process as well. Only negative thing is that there are lot of monkeys in the campus, snatching our food and entering our hostel rooms. Admission date was 23-07-2019, on this day we were given rooms, admission formalities and bought cycle. Next day, orientation session was conducted, verified and scanned our details and took pictures for ID cards.

Remarks:

It has an overall Good ranking. Its a Government college so the fees wasnt that much as compared to other colleges we got additional benefits also The placements opportunities are better then other colleges. We get a chance to participate in Many Extracurricular activities at the department and institutional level.

IIT Madras Data Science and Programming Review.

Remarks:

After reading the curriculum of the program and how they structured it, I was immediately drawn towards it to further my expertise in the Data Science domain. The IIT Madras brand value speaks for itself. The college divided the curriculum into 3 zones. Foundation level, Diploma Level and Degree level. Each level has it's own curriculum carefuly curated to dive methodically into the Data Science domain. The college also offered a list of multiple Open Electives related to programming and Computer Science which are at par with knowledge required at Industry Level.

Best Engineering College in India

Placement Experience:

Placement records of IIT Madras is just incredible. Almost everyone gets placed with a decent salary through campus placements. 6th semester onwards students become eligible for sitting in placements while internship opportunities are open for all year students. The highest salary offered last year was around 1.37 crores. In electrical Engineering department, highest was 36 LPA, average was 18 LPA and the minimum salary offered was 8 LPA. All big companies like Google, Facebook ,Microsoft, Qualcomm, Intel visited the campus on Day 0 of placements and hired many students. Around 95% students got placed last year who sat for placements. Some prefer to go for MBA or any other higher studies in foreign Universities.

Remarks:

IIT madras has been ranked no.1 in NIRF engineering and it very renowned in terms of education and technical education and industrial training. The college has a hugh campus as well and offers B.tech and dual degrees in twelve specialisations. For the admission process a candidate has to clear out the joint entrance examination and after qualifying, the candidate then has to apply to the college from the college portal. It costs 150 rupees.The seat is based upon the cut off and also 10+2 high school certificates are mandatory with an average percentage of at least 75%

The online Data Science program at IIT Madras is a great opportunity for someone who can not attend regular college because of financial constraints, illness, or other reasons. The online BS in Data Science and Application allows students to gain knowledge of this field from one of the most reputed engineering colleges in India.

The online lectures are taught by experienced faculty members from IITM. What I found most interesting was the professors' distinct approach to teaching. The students are routinely assisted by committed and supportive staff.

IIT Madras has undertaken a unique approach to imparting their expertise in the highly demanded field of Data Science.

What are your thoughts on IIT Madras offering a bachelor's degree/diploma online?

It is a full-time degree or diploma and so it will have more value than online. But if we compare IIT Madras’ online degree or diploma with any other college’s then it is better.

The duration of the course is 3 years. The mode of training is online, the lectures are mostly recorded and partly live sessions.

Whether the course will be good or not that depends on what subject you are planning to pursue. If you opt for a subject related to technology, then it is not a good option. This is because technology cannot be learned through books or audiovisual. It requires you to be present in the field to gain experience and knowledge.
